Checking the accuracy of your temperature sensor is easy with a simple ice bath. Check out this video to see how to do it.
How to use and ice bath to calibrate a temperature sensor A quick video on the procedure used to calibrate or verify the accuracy of a temperature sensor using an ice bath.
What do you do when you need a temperature sensor design that doesn’t currently exist?
You have three options…
1) Make due with what is available. This is often the solution chosen, but it leads to an imperfect solution risking accuracy, and longevity, and at times raises safety concerns.
2) Build your own custom solution. If you have the resources available you can try to build your own custom solution, but this requires a machine shop, engineering, time, and resources for a solution that may or may not work.
3) Have the manufacturer build a custom solution. While most manufacturers do not offer custom solutions, some like Burns do offer custom solutions because they have the resources, experience, and know-how to do so. In this case, the result is going to be available more quickly, have a higher chance of success the first time, and accuracy concerns will have been addressed in the process.
Burns customers have proven time and time again that choosing to have your sensor manufacturer develop a solution for your application will more often than not result in a better end product and reduce the likelihood of having to do it all over again. Burns never charges for custom sensor consultations or design services unless you choose to buy the sensor from us.
