I teach private piano and oboe lessons, along with music theory, improvisation, composition, musicianship and performance. Bringing the joy of music to children and adults is what Keys and Reeds Music Studio is all about.

Were you fortunate enough to see fireworks? So many were canceled due to questionable weather. It's turning out to be a beautiful night, but you can't really know with storms. See you for lessons in July!

So great to see Logan and Riley in person for the recital. They have Zoom lessons as they live an hour away! We played duets today without ever having rehearsed them together! That shows what strong players they are!!!
I'm so proud of Becca, Lucy, Elsie, Lila, Trevor and Rowan! They all played at the APPI Piano Festival in Golden Valley today!! They were all so well prepared!!! Bravissimo!

This was our Holiday Recital two weeks ago. What a beautiful event we had! It was a beautiful space and the kids all did such a great job! If we weren't already in the Christmas spirit when the recital started, we certainly were when we left!

I just got the photos from our Holiday Recital a couple weeks ago! This was Jack, bringing the event to a close with a beautiful rendition of the piece Candlelight by Andrea Dow. I'm excited to post more on my Keys and Reeds Music Studio page later today.

Riley and Logan surprised me by preparing a Halloween duet for this afternoon's Zoom performance! It was SO GOOD! Great costumes, too. Everyone did a great job!
Happy Almost Halloween! 2 more days until our Halloween Zoom recital. Students have been preparing for about a month and are ready to perform their fun and creepy pieces for a zoom audience!
Then, believe it or not, we transition right into our Christmas music!
That gives us 8 short weeks to learn as many Christmas pieces as we can!

Another successful Spring Showcase! It was standing room only! Everyone who said they’d come, came. The performances were great! They can be really proud of themselves today! Thanks to all the families and performers! Bravo!!!
I so enjoyed attending the CMS production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory yesterday. My grandchildren, Henry and Helen, accompanied me and we had a great time. I have spent several weeks working with my oboe student, Jack, who was part of the pit orchestra. Several weeks of individual practice and rehearsals was a real growth experience for him and he rose to the occasion. I could hear his solo parts nice and clear, while at other times I could hear his sound blending with the others. Great job, Jack! Congrats to the entire team who created a wonderful experience for your audiences!

Our Story
I teach private piano and oboe lessons, music theory, musicianship and performance. By developing rapport and trust, my students and I can explore a wide variety of music in order to awaken each student’s talents and gifts. Typically, my studio offers students three different performance opportunities each year through which they can share their music with families, friends and guests.
I began studying piano and oboe at age 9, continued regular lessons all through high school and college, and continue to take lessons today as a way to grow as a musician.
Over the last 20 years I have performed as a soloist and in small and large ensembles in churches, community orchestras, weddings, funerals and other events.
I founded my studio in 1979 and am looking to grow both my performance opportunities and the number of students in my studio.
