I captured the view out of my studio window about 2 months ago. Overgrown grasses, young maple tree, old evergreen, young peach tree. I love this place, and I feel very fortunate. 🥹🖤 Wheel-thrown tan colored ceramic mug with carvings of trees and gresses.

There are still a few spots left in our collage mug workshop. Saturday April 18th 12-3pm. You will learn how to create a slab- built mug of your very own! You will decorate your mug with a variety of underglaze decals, stamps and painted details. The mugs will be fired and clear glazed for durability and food safety. TEXTURE! You know I love texture, and carving is my therapy. The north eastern part of our back yard we let grow wild... in fact, a LOT of our 2.75ish acres grows wild. The picture on the left is what it looked like a few days ago... and some new carved pieces... a striking similarity!

We got back today from NCECA! It was amazing and overwhelming and exhausting! I gotta to meet some friends in person for the first time, and hang out with some long-time friends as well! I'm filled up with inspiration. Ceramic people are among the world's kindest. I made this pot last week... the week before spring break. This is my 25th year of teaching high school ceramics. We all needed a break. Now I have a whole week to work in my studio. I'm not sure where it's gonna go, but I have a ton of ideas I wanna try! [coil-built clay bowl with sprig molded flowers]
