Motion Picture Arts Gallery

https://mpagallery.com/ The Motion Picture Arts Gallery was founded in 1982 on the belief that motion picture art is timeless and enduring.

This website offers our entire galleries’ inventory of thousands of original movie posters and lobby cards spanning 100 years of cinema. It is our belief that original movie posters have achieved the status of art, and we are proud to have been part of that process. Many of our most popular selections are those immortalizing celebrated classics or stars; yet, we also have a large selection of beautiful and detailed monuments to films that are considered obscure.

After 42 years, today marks the official closing of the Motion Picture Arts Gallery. A Manhattan cocktail seemed like the perfect drink to toast our staff and all of the wonderful customers and consigners who placed their trust in us over the years.

Wishing everyone a peaceful holiday season and a happy, healthy new year!

Dear Friends,

After 42 years, we will be closing the Motion Picture Arts Gallery in late November 2025. We will continue our 20% off sale (please use code MPA20 at checkout), as well as adding occasional items to our new acquisitions section.

I would like to thank a few people who went above and beyond: Jamie Delson, Paula Resnick, Howard Mandelbaum, Walter Reuben, Jose Carpio, John Kisch, Tony Nourmand, Denna Avery, Eric Rachlis and Carlos Alberto.

It would be impossible for me personally to express my full gratitude to Ira Resnick, the gallery founder. A true pioneer in treating movie posters as art and as good a person as you could ever hope to meet.

Also, a gigantic thank you to all our clients and colleagues. Too numerous to name here, but I want you to know how much we appreciate your friendship and business dealings.

On behalf of the MPA team, past and present: Lauren Radler, Gil Wang, Stephanie Fogel, Elaina Wahl, Regina Nepsha, Philip Shalam, Tamara Gurbis, Leshu Torchin, Leo Benitez, Otto Medvetsky, Eugene Nouril, Justin Mejia, Bruno Nouril, Lauren and Frank Osmers, thanks for everything.

Sincerely yours,
Joe Burtis

"There's nothing like the big screen. The cinema is really built for the big screen and big sound, so that a person can go into another world and have an experience." - David Lynch

In recognition of the passing of a true cinema visionary, our marquee will be dark tonight.
