Blue Navy
Ethereal/slowcore music made by Pennsylvania musician Jake Dryzal. His newest album, Yours, will be released on December 4, 2020.
Blue Navy is the alias of artist Jake Dryzal; he writes haunting, introspective lyrics that are sung alongside heavily reverberated guitars, warm synthesizers, and occasional drums, piano, and strings.

"“Untogether,” despite its own title, sounds cohesive... Jake Dryzal turned his diary inside out and discovered that the scattered pages fold into a story. And this story deserves to be heard to its very last second." - Natali Abernathy, Indie Boulevard
"An outstanding record... [These songs] exist here as a singular statement, one that feels deeply resonant." - Austin Sher, We Write About Music

My new album, "Untogether", is out on April 10. This LP mainly consists of Blue Navy-era originals that were never recorded officially when they were written. I am unbelievably proud of this album and I can't wait for all of you to hear it! Pre-save for streaming, and pre-orders for CD and digital versions, are available today. I also released an accompanying music video for its second single, "Corridor 9". All links are in the comments section. Thank you all!

I'm very excited to announce that I have new music out today in the form of a re-recording of my 2013 song "East Rutherford"! The song is out on all streaming platforms, including Bandcamp, and a lyric video is now on YouTube, which you can view using the link in my story. I am currently in the process of recording a new album of long-lost originals entitled "Untogether", which I hope to have out later this year or very early 2026. Many of these songs are acoustic ballads that were written from 2013 to 2016, when Blue Navy was undergoing a transitional period of sorts. These tunes were never recorded officially. "East Rutherford" was originally included on the third Blue Navy demo, "I Believe". I think this version surpasses the original in virtually every aspect and I really hope you enjoy it. More music is to come so stay tuned!

Hi, folks. Today I have released a brand new album of covers entitled "The Messenger LP". You can check it out on Bandcamp and YouTube now. On Bandcamp, you can download it for free.
One of my New Year’s Resolutions was to release two new albums by 2025’s end. One of them, I said, would be a covers album. Well, here it is! One song was recorded live; the other nine were tracked at my new apartment to test out equipment, particularly the acoustic dampening panels I now have in my studio space. This might be my favorite covers album to date - really proud of this one. The second project will contain originals and I hope to work on it soon. Stay tuned for that. Hope you enjoy this in the meantime.

Today would have been David Lynch's birthday.
I first watched Eraserhead when I was 13. Discovering it made me feel rebellious - like I had stepped into the waters of a foreign cinematic world. That movie's dreamlike atmosphere and imagery were rather epiphanic for my young brain, and I knew I needed more. That led me to becoming a huge fan of Mulholland Dr., Twin Peaks, Inland Empire - even earlier projects of his, like The Alphabet and The Grandmother. In addition to his eyes, Lynch had quite the ears. Angelo Badalamenti's moody soundtracks left a profound impact on me, in addition to the records he made with Julee Cruise. "Floating Into the Night" still ranks as one of my all-time favorite albums.
Needless to say, I have taken many cues from Mr. Lynch. Heck - the original Blue Navy logo was a still from "Mulholland Dr.", and I directly listed Badalamenti and Cruise as influences on my Blue Navy Bandcamp page! Visually, aesthetically, and musically, I always aspired to embrace the mysterious and ethereal sides of art, and that made me feel rather fulfilled, creatively.
Additionally, he taught me many lessons that I still abide by to this day; to pursue ideas, to use my imagination to its fullest potential, and most importantly, to keep dreaming.
David gave us all new perspectives on art, cinema, and existence itself. I can assure you all that my artistic (and perhaps career) trajectory would have been completely different if not for David Lynch.
While I will definitely miss him, I'm glad he left us with so many pearls that will be cherished for years to come, and I'm thankful that he left such an enormously positive impact on my life. Wherever you are, David, I hope you're seeing blue skies and golden sunshine all along the way.
