Earlier today, ERFD responded to a ruptured high-pressure gas line that was struck during construction operations on Hackensack Street.

Out of an abundance of caution, the immediate area was evacuated and Hackensack Street was closed to ensure public safety. Due to the location of the break—adjacent to a newly constructed apartment building—mutual aid was requested to assist on scene.

PSEG responded promptly and worked to mitigate the situation safely.

Thank you to mutual aid departments that assisted on scene.
