White House wants cybersecurity standards for hospitals.

The healthcare sector remains a hot target for hackers.

How do you think this will affect hospitals?

The government plans to push for minimum cybersecurity standards for hospitals.

The Change Healthcare hack proves that the sector remains a hot target.

Groups receiving money from Medicare and Medicaid may soon be notified about the rule.

However, the American Hospital Association worries that it may impact hospitals’ resources against cyberattacks.

Free training will be given to 1,400 small, rural hospitals to support the plan.

We’d love to hear your thoughts about it!

Have you ever been SMISHED?

You probably have been and just don't know it...

Do you text message?

I know, what a silly question!!!

Of course you do, we all do!

But did you know that because you text, you are vulnerable to a text message cyber-attack called smishing?

Did you know:

❌ Less than 35% of the population knows what smishing is; A cyber-attack where a bad actor tries to steal your data or money through a text message that attempts to trick you into following a link you shouldn’t or revealing personal details or login information that should be kept private.

❌ There are two main types of smishing that can either harvest your personal data, or control and spy on your smartphone.

❌ Smishing attacks can steal user information using fake two-factor authentication messages.

Take a look at our post below to learn more about smishing, how you can recognize an attack, and what steps you can take to avoid being a victim of this cyber-attack.

Do you love your Android?

I know I do!

HOWEVER, I don't love the idea that my Android has become a gaping open window to everything I do…

I know you’ve heard it before, “Privacy is a fundamental human right.” This is true, BUT, it does NOT mean that your Android isn't tracking your internet activity, watching what you do inside the applications, and tagging your location wherever you go.

SCARY right?! Did you know that...

❌ The apps you install on your Android can track your activity? If enabled (and sometimes even when not), they can see how you use their application and sometimes, even the other applications on your phone. Do you REALLY want some unknown software developer to know about all of your Google searches?

❌ Speaking of Google, when logged into your Google account, did you know that they keep a history of EVERYTHING you search? This will happen in any modern browser such as Chrome, or Edge... UNLESS you use a privacy-focused browser.

❌ We've all joked about how our devices are always listening to everything we say, but should we really joke about this? I've heard many stories recently about how private conversations between couples and families have been recorded and used to create specific advertisements. To be honest, this one scares me THE MOST.

With all this being said, here are my TOP 7 PRIVACY RECOMMENDATIONS for all you Android users.

So tell me, shouldn't you take whatever steps necessary to protect your privacy and security?

Take a look at Ross’s recommendations and let us know if there are any other recommendations you would add!

What would you do if your insurance rates suddenly skyrocketed by 50%?

Would you happily pay it?
....................................................................................

The rate of ransomware attacks and other cybercrimes have skyrocketed in frequency and severity in the last few years.

This growth has driven significant changes in the cyber insurance marketplace which includes specific requirements such as Multi-factor Authentication (MFA).

It is now common practice to require that organization have MFA in place before providing a quote, especially when it comes to email access.

Without MFA, businesses with insurance risk non-renewal or a premium increase of 30-50% or more.

An MFA is a vital layer of protection against first party losses and business interruption that can result from a cyberattack.

While the economic turmoil of the pandemic has impacted companies of all sizes, the hit taken by many mid-sized companies and small businesses can make it tempting to skip improving cybersecurity or buying cyber insurance.

Without having proper preventative measures and insurances in place, the risk of losing your business is extensive.

Would you rather pay a little more now and prevent your insurance premiums from increasing (plus prevent an attack), or roll the dice and hope they never catch you?
