Last night, I spoke with at to comment on 's heinous & unlawful decision to deny trans youth the lifesaving gender-affirming care they're legally entitled to. As I said in the interview, the CEO & dean of School of Medicine Robert Grossman's rash decision to discontinue gender-affirming care sets an especially dangerous precedent for other medical institutions providing said care for trans, nonbinary & intersex youth. What NYU Langone did was shameful! Our community will not stand for this injustice! We will speak up, speak out & rally for the rights we so richly deserve!
Thank you to our co-conspirator Leticia James for standing with us in these precarious times and demanding hospitals to continue providing care for our vulnerable trans, nonbinary & intersex kids. Trans, nonbinary and intersex youth are already at risk of violence in schools, neighborhoods & sometimes even from family members. They're a high risks of self-harm & su***de when denied access to the care they need. GAC is often the only shred of hope & joy that they can hold onto in a world that politicizes & demonizes their very existence. Thank you to , & for standing in solidarity with us all!
To my dear trans, nonbinary & intersex youth, I implore you to hang in there. I know this hurts like Hell. I know you're scared & hurting right now...I'm afraid & saddened too, but I'm not detered nor defeated & neither is your community. You have so many folks out there that see you, love you, support you, are rooting for you and fighting for YOU! We've been in this fight countless times before but we will weather this storm TOGETHER! Who got us? We got us! π³οΈββ§οΈβπ½
Storytime!
I want to wish my idol, my forever & queen Christina Aguilera a very Happy 44th Birthday! I've been a ride or die since she first released in June of 1999. I've been captivated by her voice and inspired by her artistry from the very beginning. But it was when she released in October of 2002 that I fell even more in love with her. The evolution of her innocent teen image into her young adult phase, the stunning ballad we know today as , the soulful sound of featuring Miss , the sexy , to the R&B female empowerment bop featuring THEE ! This woman had me in a chokehold with her powerhouse voice, her messages of inclusion, her staunch position as a feminist and ally...she's got it all. I'm such a fan that when I legally changed my name in 2005, I chose Christina as my middle name in tribute to her.
The 1st clip of this video is from the 1st documentary I appeared in, "Follow My Voice: With the Music of Hedwig." Christina would have been my 1st concert experience ever had it not been for my abuser/parent. In 2003, I did an interview with , written by the lovely , spreading the gospel of . At some point in the interview, of course I proclaimed my love & adoration for Christina. Sadly, the interview never went to print but Jancee later interviewed Christina for her Justified & Stripped Tour & she graciously offered me the tickets that Christina had sent to Jancee as a thank you! I was so elated. But true to form, my abuser refused to let me go. I was heartbroken & thought I'd never have the chance to see her live again.
Fast forward to 2021, my sister got me a ticket to to see Christina perform for my 1st time! & in 2023, I got to see her perform AGAIN when my sister got me a ticket to her performance! I'm so grateful to my sisters for the life changing chance to see my idol sing live π₯Ή
I love this girl so much. She's been an inspiration to me since I was 13 years old. I sincerely hope to meet her someday so that I can tell her to her face how much her music has meant to me.
, Christina! ππβοΈ

Last week, I had the remarkable honor of attending 's Freedom To Be Ourselves rally at the United States Supreme Court to stand in solidarity with trans & nonbinary youth. The landmark case of US vs. Skrmetti, where the 1st ever transgender lawyer, , to argue before the Supreme Court in favor of gender-affirming care for trans youth was truly an event to be witnessed. Being in proximity to so many trans folks (young & adult) alongside our allies & co-conspirators brought me tremendous pride. Listening to the words of resilient trans youth like Mila & Daniel warmed my heart. Hearing the rallying cries of the rally's co-organizers, & , filled me with hope that we will weather the storm that's to come.
I wore my t-shirt, designed by my sis , because I wanted to carry the image of my transcestors with me on that momentous occasion. Sylvia & Marsha put themselves on the front lines for trans & q***r liberation. It was, in part, because of trans trailblazers like them & that we have the rights we carry today. With this incoming trump dictatorship, we are at risk of losing those very same rights that many have fought & died for. But like our transcestors, we will rise up against our oppressors to demand that which is so rightfully ours. We will fight these bigots tooth & nail to ensure that our trans youth are uplifted, supported & loved on. This world can so often be cruel to trans & nonbinary folks, but when we align ourselves with each other, there's nothing we can't accomplish.
I'm so grateful to my siblings, LaLa & Samy, & the incomparable Chase Strangio for their tireless work towards community. Being in that crowd made me so proud to be trans. I love our community βπ½π©·π€π©΅π³οΈββ§οΈ

Recently I was asked (very last minute) to speak with on the dangers the trans community are now facing as a result of this impending dictatorship & to respond to the disgusting attacks on Delaware's own by right wing extremists like . This sick obsession cis folks have with trans people's ge****ls is abhorrent. I also made a point to call out the hypocrisy of anti-trans lunatics like Nancy who've sought to label trans & nonbinary folks as groomers and p3d0ph!les all in the name of "protecting women" yet have staunchly uplifted a known pr3d@t0r & πist like who's done actual harm to women & girls...but that part got cut out π
Trans people are not the issue. Cis people who seek to demoralize & dehumanize trans & nonbinary folks are the issue. These bullies, sociopaths & psychopaths who seek to strip us of our basic human rights are the issue. These attacks on our livelihood are a distraction from the real issues Americans are facing like access to affordable housing, healthcare, better education and safeguarding human beings from real life monsters like who harm others with impunity. THESE THINGS are what the American people should be focused on; not denying trans people access to restrooms, gender-affirming care or banning trans youth from sports. I fear with the continued attacks at the government level, this will only further lead to more trans folks either unaliving themselves or being murdered. Enough is enough!
As I said in the interview, we as a community have been here before. Attacks on our rights and bodily autonomy are nothing new. We will fight back with everything we have. But a war is coming & it's all hands on deck. We will not stand idly by and allow these extremists to criminalize us for living in our truth. See you folks in Washington at the Capitol on 12/4! βπ½π³οΈββ§οΈ

Happy Heavenly Birthday to my sister, mother, best friend, my everything...Naiomi Cruz Xtravaganza. This still hurts so badly to put into words but I want to because her story deserves to be told. Her name deserves to be written and said aloud. Naiomi came into my life at a time when I was yearning for a real, loving family structure. I'd been kicked out of my home for being trans which left a longing in my heart. I met Naiomi at a house meeting (during our House of Legacy International days) and immediately was enamored with her. I was stunned to meet another trans woman that looked the way Naiomi did. She was as sweet as she was beautiful, and my goodness she WAS beautiful. People flocked to her because of her physical beauty. But what was so wonderful about her was that her outsides matched her insides. She was truly one of the kindest, most loyal people you could ever meet. She had a heart of gold that she wore on her sleeve which just made you want to love on her. And honey, she could dress! She had style, pizazz, grace, all the things! I miss the times when we'd get ready together whether it was to go to a club or to a ball. I miss her laugh. I miss having her strength, wisdom and candor in my life. I miss her so much. It's difficult writing this without crying but it's important to. What happened to Naiomi was wrong. She was killed by a medical team at whom she trusted her very life with. She went in for a routine kidney stone removal and never woke up. They murdered a brown trans woman and presumably are getting away with it. As someone that isn't her biological sister, I'm limited to what information I can have access to. I'm limited to seeking justice for her...it's so painful. But I do her justice by telling her story and speaking her name, especially on her birthday. I thank the universe every single day for bringing this incredible human being into my life. I will cherish our memories forever. Happy birthday Naiomi. I love you. Always. π₯π
