FHS BANDS ANNUAL PLAY-A-THON This is our biggest fundraiser of the year! All money raised will go to helping the Franklin band program with travel costs, student support, instrument and equipment needs, uniform upkeep and additions, food for events, professional instrument instruction and clinicians and many other items that help the Franklin Band Program thrive. We have a goal of $15,000 this year. Each year this program gets stronger because of our wonderful music community! Thanks for supporting music in our schools.

Congratulations to our Franklin Bands for wonderful performances at the Warner Pacific Band festival yesterday! Our Symphonic Band and Concert band combined forces for a fantastic set that included performances of “National Emblem” by Edwin Eugene Bagley and a tribute to Robert W. Smith performing “To Challenge the Sky and Heavens Above.”

The Franklin Wind Ensemble put together a beautiful set of pieces that received 6A state qualifying scores by all of the adjudicators at the festival! Our pieces included “Memor Vita!”Brant Karrick, The “Florentiner March” by Fucik and “Prelude, Sicilliano, and Rondo” by Malcolm Arnold.

Thank you Gene Burton at Warner Pacific University for hosting! Such a rewarding day of music with all of the students. Go Lightning Bands!!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our PPS District Solo & Ensemble Festival yesterday including all of the room adjudicators who were wonderful with all of our students. I especially want to thank Gary Riler and Cleveland HS for hosting the event and Laura Arthur for organizing the entire day! I’m very proud of our Franklin Musicians. Franklin students had so many wonderful performances including District Champions in the Large Woodwind Category and Large Percussion category. In addition we had wonderful performances from our clarinets (2nd Alt State) and Small Percussion (2nd Alt State). If you would like to listen to some of Franklin’s ensembles the links are below.
