Some Frequently asked questions:

What is a Plait: it’s the number of pieces of rawhide braided together, if you think of braiding hair, that has 3 pieces, 30 plait would be 30 pieces braided together, typically the higher the plait the higher quality but plait count is NOT the ONLY factor of quality or feel

What length should I get? The measurements you see would be the total measurement from bit end to bit end not including the tail.

110” (also noted as 55”) is suitable for average to long necked horses (110” would be the total rein length not including the tail, 55” would be half the rein part rein length). About 95% of the romals we sell are 110”

102-104” (also noted as 51” or 52”) is suitable for the average to short necked horses

The difference from 104”-110” is only 3” of rein length so minimal difference and fairly versatile

84-90” romals are usually made to be used with rein chains, but could also be used with pony’s

I always say it’s better to be on the longer side because you can always slide your hand down and grab further down the rein but not everyone wants the extra slack if you do have a short necked horse 😊.
