NBA and college basketball analysis: overlooked details, prospects, role players, and winning plays.
Need better clock management out of the vet!! No excuses. However, It is a TEAM game and it took a lot of exceptional play from the Knicks.
I'll get to that in another video!!
Fox made the most obvious late mistake. That still does not mean he lost this game by himself. The Spurs had other breakdowns, and Fox also made too many big plays throughout the night.
If the Spurs want to win tonight, it starts here. Stop settling!! Let the shooters like Vassell and Champagnie do their thing. Don't be scared of it, but find the best opportunity each possession!!
Get Wemby better touches. Recognize what the Knicks are giving by attaching the big to Wemby in drop.
Imagine if Maleek went to a school without a featured lottery pick like Acuff. He might have put up the numbers to be a late lottery pick himself. They played well off eachother, but Acuff was, rightfully so, the featured guy.
Late first or early second feels way too low for a young guard who can shoot and make difficult shots like this off the catch, off the dribble, and every kind of steps and gather. He also isn't a slouch in other areas. That is so important in the league of the best players in the world!!
Darryn Peterson is a talent a franchise shouldn't pass on. He showed me enough throughout the season, even with limited minutes.
AJ is absolutely worthy of a top pick, but when they shared the floor, Peterson kept looking like the better basketball player too often for me to ignore.
Cleveland is making this too easy for the Knicks.
This is just a few of the big reasons why.
They are missing lobs, missing mismatches, and getting too dribble-happy when the simple answer is right there.
If they do not get back to trusting the bigs and the short roll, this series is going to be short.
Chet does not have to stop Wemby - no single player can!!
OKC can continue to bother him with smaller bodies for stretches, but if they keep avoiding Chet in the matchup, The French Phenom is going to keep living near the rim and on the glass. The Thunder and Daigneault need to mix it up more at least.
This series might not come down to Cade or Mitchell. It might come down to whether Jalen Duren can punish the coverage Cleveland used to take him away.
Game 7 is around the corner and potentially a lot of money and negotiating leverage for the young beast in Detriot.
Dylan Harper is not acting his age.
He's showing he belongs amongst the best at the highest level by going at Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, and kept making plays with Rudy Gobert nearby.
That is not normal rookie stuff.
Daniss Jenkins (DAY-NUS! I know I butchered this!!) started this year in the G League.
Now he is earning playoff minutes by doing the exact things that win games: extra effort, confidence, and understanding how to fill a role without forcing anything.
This is how guys get PAID millions of dollars to play hoops.
You can make millions off defense alone. Ausar just proved it. When his contract is up for the 27-28 season he is going to get PAID because of series like this one.
The twin just gave one of the best defensive playoff performances I can remember.
The blocks were a combination of awareness and crazy athleticism. The steals were possible because of great hands and timing and they helped turn the series. But even bigger than that, he kept changing possessions, taking away comfort, and wrecking Orlando’s offense without needing to score.
