We have a number of vintage paperbacks of Kurt Vonnegut's work coming to the website soon! Vonnegut (1922-2007) was known for his dark humor and a bleak if not totally cynical approach to human nature.

One of the best loved stories about Vonnegut, the person, is that he received letters from a high school class in 2006 to which he replied (see picture). Vonnegut encouraged art for its own sake and for the betterment of the artist rather than simply as a product to be consumed which seems only more relevant in 2026 than it was in 2006 (which is strangely somehow 20 years ago!).

Fred Rogers (1928-2003), better known as Mister Rogers, was the star of the popular children's program Mister Rogers' Neighborhood for 895 episodes. The show ran from the late 1960s until 2001 and continued for over a decade after the last episode was filmed making it one of the longest running shows on PBS.

Rogers and his cast of characters dealt more with the social and emotional development of children than academic development. Rogers tackled issues such as anxiety, loss, race relations, and growing up mostly through direct and calm dialogue with the camera.

In doing so, he became one of the most beloved entertainers in American history. Come take home this record with iconic Mister Rogers songs for $15 in the store on Friday!

After having been stricken down with a sour gall bladder, I make my triumphant return with this gem - Murder at the Ingham County Fair!

This Richard Baldwin is signed and inscribed to Matthew (do you know any Matthews who love Ingham County?) and tells the tale of the murder of Judge Winston Beckinridge who was murdered at the fair! Given that fair season is just around the corner, what better way to get into the summer spirit than with a riveting locally themed mystery? For $10 + shipping, this can be yours!

Note: A quick Google search reveals that there has never been an actual murder on record at the Ingham County Fair.

Condition: Book shows minor wear and has some dirtiness inside the front cover.
