Conquer Accelerator is a ten-week summer program designed to take select #StartupTeams from customer discovery to product/market fit.

We’d like to introduce one of our CADE interns this cohort, Kristan Maxie! Kristan recently graduated from Michigan State University majoring in English Secondary Education along with minors in History, Teaching English As a Second Language, and Entrepreneurship, and she’s currently pursuing her MBA at National University. Also, Kristan has served as a Military Police Officer for five years in the United States Army Reserves. She also started her own business in 2019, “KVMFX”, which is geared toward teaching young people the skill of trading in the foreign exchange market. Welcome to Conquer, Kristan!

Rounding out this cohort’s CADE introductions is Calarie Idhe! Her last name, Idhe, means and is known as a roof or house shingle in Yoruba, a language from Nigeria. Calarie’s ancestors were known for cultivating protective, secure, and stable roofing. Like her ancestors, Calarie works hard, and is determined, resilient and passionate. After graduating high school, she continued her sociology associates degree at Lansing Community College, and two years ago switched programs to business. She is now finishing her Business Transfer Studies associate’s degree, as well as a Business Management and Administrative bachelor’s degree. Along with CADE, she attends school full time, and works for the Michigan Department of Treasury as a student assistant in revenue and tax services. We are glad to have you, Calarie!

Last but not least in our team introductions is Fleet Lab! Fleet Lab supplements traditional school bus systems with specially equipped electric vans to make k-12 student transportation safer, more effective and more equitable. Thanks for being with us!

Introducing another CADE intern this cohort, Hannah Sherman! She is a junior studying entrepreneurship at Michigan State University with a focus in agriculture and food industry management.
Startups have always had a special place in her heart - growing up, she witnessed some of the successes and hardships of running a small family-owned business in her parents’ pet care service in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She would like to see more businesses take more initiative in connecting with their target market and finding the needs of their communities. We are glad to have you with us, Hannah!
