Your emotions are real. Your struggle to control them is real. But here's the truth: anger doesn't produce the righteousness of God.

James 1:19 reminds us to be "quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger." This isn't just good advice—it's wisdom for holy living. The church must live differently than the world. We can't be controlled by our emotions; we must be led by the Spirit.

Want to know where your heart is? Check your mouth. What flows from your lips reveals what's happening inside. Pure religion isn't just about knowing the right words—it's about caring for the helpless, receiving God's Word with meekness, and letting it transform you from the inside out.

Don't just be a hearer of the Word. Be a doer. Let the implanted Word save your soul and set you apart.

We are still accepting donations for student summer camp through this Sunday!💸

👉️ If you'd like to donate Walmart gift cards, these need to be dropped off at the church office before Sunday since our cooks are leaving early Sunday to prep for the students' arrival on Monday.
👉️ If you'd prefer to donate on Sunday, please bring cash or check (made payable to Trinity Point Church; put "student camp donation" in the memo line).

Temptation doesn't come from God—it comes from within our own broken hearts. James 1:13-18 reminds us that while we bear God's image, our natures are fundamentally different. God cannot be tempted, and He tempts no one.

Here's the truth: temptation promises pleasure but always leads to death. It keeps you longer than you want to stay, takes you further than you want to go, and costs more than you're willing to pay. But there's hope! Every good gift comes from above, and God has made us new through Christ.

When temptation comes—and it will—remember God's goodness, know His Word, and run toward the way out He always provides. You're more broken than you think, but God is better than you can imagine. That's why we desperately need Jesus.

We're kicking off our summer series in the book of James, diving deep into what it means to live holy lives as followers of Christ. This isn't about arrogance or perfection—it's about wisdom for everyday faith.

James, the brother of Jesus who went from doubter to devoted servant, gives us practical truth: trials will come, but they have purpose. When we remain steadfast through difficulty, seeking God's wisdom with the same passion on bad days as good days, we grow tougher in our faith. The question isn't IF trials come, but WHEN they come—will we stay faithful?

Here's the challenge: Are we the same person praising God on our 150 good days as we are when one hard day hits? True wisdom isn't a quick prayer before a big decision—it's the daily pursuit of knowing God deeper. There's a blessing, a crown of life, promised to those who remain steadfast.

This summer, let's learn together what it means to be servants of Christ, finding joy in trials and hope beyond this temporary life.
