Progress continues in Tamassee, South Carolina.

Our grader is nearing completion of the site clearing phase, with the future driveway now fully opened up and the homesite beginning to take shape. It's always exciting to see a vision start emerging from the landscape, and this project is no exception.

Next up, the surveyor will return to stake the exact house location, followed by foundation excavation as we prepare to bring this custom home to life.

Every stage is moving forward on schedule, and we're looking forward to sharing the journey from raw land to a finished home.

The siding and exterior trim are being installed, while our interior trim crew is hard at work inside. Things are really starting to come together, and we're getting closer every day.

So it begins—Day 1 of clearing trees for a new custom home in Tamassee, SC.

The name Tamassee originates from the Cherokee word Tamasi, meaning "Place of the Sunlight of God." This home is being built on a large tract of land with no neighbors within a stone's throw, offering privacy, tranquility, and beautiful natural surroundings.

No one knows what 2027 will bring, but right now lumber prices are down, labor costs have stabilized, and interest rates remain reasonable. While interest rates can change—and may be refinanced in the future—you may never see material and labor pricing at today's levels again.

Now is the time to start the process. Design, budgeting, permitting, and financing can easily take three months on their own. Because our custom homes typically take around a year to complete, we are already scheduling projects well into 2027. If we take on just a few more homes this year, our schedule will be booked into the spring of next year.

Sign now, and we can potentially break ground in late summer or early fall, with move-in before Christmas 2027 (depending on the size and complexity of the home).

This remodel project in The Reserve At Lake Keowee is winding down. We completely gutted the master bath. Extended it outward 6ft under the front porch to allow more space and give them room for a new tub and an additional closet. All new tile. Countertops. Etc.

We also removed the wood shed and replaced it with a real storage closet that matches the house. They can now get the shovels, rakes, etc out of the garage and put them in this closet.

Lastly. We did a few smaller things inside the house. Swapped out some lights. Added some ceiling fans. And replaced the countertop in the powder bath.
