The Pickens Sentinel was first published July 23, 1871.
The Easley Progress was first published July 23, 1902. Both papers have been serving their respective communities ever since. On Dec. 7, 2016, the papers merged to become The Sentinel-Progress which is proud to continue serving the Upstate as Pickens County's oldest continuously operated business.

Everyone is welcome to attend the American Legion Post 52 game on Friday night. Be sure to try and get there at around 5 or 5:15 pm for a good parking spot and the pregame activities. Local baseball standouts Todd Freeman and Travis Barbary will be in attendance.
Reminder: The deadline has passed to sign up for the banquet.

Liberty High School did an outstanding job today with a ceremony honoring the four Pickens County Medal of Honor recipients and recognizing SDPC’s Designation as a Purple Star District. Be sure to see next week’s edition of The Easley Progress newspaper.

Everyone is welcome to attend the American Legion Post 52 baseball game on Friday night (against Spartanburg) at 7 pm. It’s free! Be sure to get there early at around 5:30 pm for pregame activities. Local baseball icons like Hank Parks will be in attendance. Some great tradition!
