Cub Scout Pack 400 Durham

With partnership with Keep Durham Beautiful, for this year’s Trash the Trash event, Cub Scout 400 picked up nearly 100 pounds of trash near the Beaver Marsh Preserve in Durham!

A big thank you to Sheriff Clarence Birkhead, Deputy Sheriff Witcher, and K-9 Lucky for visiting Cub Scout Pack 400 this evening. Our Webelos den was excited to finish their “My Community” adventure, and our Scouts all enjoyed learning about the responsibilities of the sheriff!

Pack 400 had an awesome time at our spring crossover camping trip! We celebrated our Arrow of Light scouts moving up to the troop, and enjoyed hiking, crafting, games, s’mores, and good company!

This weekend, Cub Scout Pack 400 hosted Science Saturday. This science outreach event was a blast! Open to the community, we had participants come from Raleigh to Hillsborough and just about everywhere in between! Participants saw fossils up close thanks to volunteers with the NC Fossil Club, learned about water conservation and pollution from the City of Durham- Stormwater division, did hands-on science experiments and saw cool demos thanks to volunteers from Duke (faculty, postdocs, grad students and staff from the departments of Cell Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Duke Brain Tumor Center, DHVI, & Optical Society Student Chapter), faculty and students from UNC, Patrick & Henry Community College, and Elon, and leaders in our Cub Scout pack!

Tonight, our Cubs wrote letters to troops who are away from home for the holidays, and had a lot of fun making ornaments and playing games!

Fall camping trip: success! Pack 400 had a great time this weekend at Falls Lake. Can’t wait for the next one!
