We had a blast volunteering at Families Moving Forward for their Spring Fest at the end of April! We enjoyed helping organize the Easter egg hunt, cakewalk, and bingo. Huge thanks to Duke's Project Tadpole for donating toys—we were so glad to pass them along to FMF for the kids! 🐣🧁🎉

This past school year, we began partnering with Changed Paths Durham to help cook free meals. Huge shoutout to our amazing volunteers for helping launch this program—and to our friends at Changed Paths for making it possible! 👨🏽‍🍳🍽✨

We were honored to present alongside Duke Help Desk for Health Policy Week! Thank you to Student Collaborative on Health Policy for hosting the event and for the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue about the intersections of health, housing, and policy. We’re grateful to be part of a community committed to equity and systemic change.

Our Spring Bake Sale was a resounding success! 🎉🍪👩‍🍳 We’re so grateful to everyone who helped us bake and table, as well as to everyone who purchased our baked goodies. All proceeds will go toward supporting those experiencing homelessness. Special shoutout to our incredible Duke partners—Students of the Caribbean Association (Duke SOCA), Blue Devil Bakers, and Kenan LLC—for their support in this fundraiser! 💙

Shoutout to our amazing volunteers who attended Duke Remote Area Medical - RAM's Henderson Clinic earlier this month! We distributed around 150 backpacks filled with essential supplies, along with our very own healthcare resource guides! 🎒💙

Throwing it back to an impactful night of service in January, when our volunteers had the incredible opportunity to take part in this year’s Point-In-Time (PIT) Count, led by Housing for New Hope. We helped survey individuals experiencing homelessness and distributed 250 backpacks filled with essential supplies. Our contributions were even recognized in front of the mayor, council members, senator, and leaders from various Durham nonprofits. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible! 💙💪

This January, The Backpack Project at Durham Inc. was honored to be part of Duke’s MLK Day of Service, a commemoration of Dr. King's legacy showcasing the unity between Duke students and the Durham community. A huge thanks to everyone who joined us in Wilson Gym to pack 200 backpacks with essential supplies, make friendship bracelets, and write letters for those experiencing homelessness. Shoutout to President Price, Duke student-athletes, and the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority in particular! 🎒📿💌

A special thank-you to Duke Athletics for their generous $3,000 donation, which will help us continue easing the burden of homelessness. 💙✨

Each month, members of TBP Durham Inc. gather near the Durham Bulls Athletic Park alongside Meet Me At The Bridge to hand-deliver backpacks and essential supplies to those experiencing homelessness.
