Earned your CWNA in 2023? It expires this year.

CWNA-109 launched September 30, 2023, and CWNA certifications are valid for three years. If you were in that first cohort, your clock is running out right about now.

Two ways to renew:
1. Pass a professional-level exam; CWSP, CWDP or CWAP, before your CWNA expires, and your CWNA renews for another three years. Each of those also earns credit toward CWNE.

2. Or retake the current version of the CWNA exam. As of September 28, that's CWNA-110.

"I'm halfway through studying for CWNA-109. Do I stop?"
No. Finish it.

The CWNA-109 exam is available through December 31, 2026. A 109 pass is a full CWNA certification, valid three years, exactly like a 110 pass. If you're deep in the material, sit the exam you've been preparing for.

Wi-Fi 7 made up less than 1% of enterprise access point revenue in early 2024. By the first quarter of 2026, it's up to 44.5%, according to IDC's latest WLAN market tracking.

That's one of the fastest standard transitions IDC has tracked in enterprise WLAN, driven by AI workloads that need lower latency, denser IoT environments, and Multi-Link Operation capabilities that Wi-Fi 6 and 6E simply can't deliver at the same scale.

📘 Wi-Fi Word of the Day: Client

Every troubleshooting conversation starts the same way: "the Wi-Fi is slow." But whose Wi-Fi? Whose device? That's where the term client comes in.

A client is any radio device that uses an access point's services to communicate wirelessly with other devices on a local area network. Laptops, phones, badge readers, printers, that scanner gun in the warehouse, they're all clients the moment they associate with an AP.

Here's why the distinction matters: the AP doesn't control the network experience by itself. Every client has its own radio chipset, driver behavior, antenna design, and power management settings, and all of that shapes how well it performs on the same network as everyone else's device. Two people standing in the same spot, connected to the same AP, can have completely different experiences depending on what's in their hands.

That's why "just move the AP" rarely fixes everything. Sometimes the client is the variable you haven't looked at yet.
