Openly Aging
Aging is the elephant in the room! If thinking of the future makes you anxious, reach out to me! š
You donāt have to need help today to think about who you may lean on tomorrow.
Thatās what being proactive about aging looks like.
Your support system might include family, friends, professionalsāor a combination of all three. The important part is understanding what you want that support to look like before life makes the decision for you.
Because independence isnāt about doing everything alone. Itās about keeping control over how you want to live.
Every week, I share practical ways to think differently about aging in my free newsletter.

When my son Jack died, people immediately understood that our family was living through an unimaginable tragedy.
His death was sudden. Unexpected. Out of the natural order of life.
But as Iāve lived with grief, Iāve realized something that has changed how I think about aging.
Grief isnāt only part of tragic, unexpected loss.
Itās part of growing older.
We lose spouses. Parents. Siblings. Lifelong friends. Sometimes even children later in life. Those losses may be expected by society, but that doesnāt make them easier to carry.
An expected death is still a profound loss.
I hope this week starts a conversation we donāt have often enoughāthat grief deserves to be acknowledged, supported, and talked about at every stage of life.
No matter who youāre grieving, your loss matters.
ā¤ļø If someone came to mind while reading this, this post is for them too.

Why I have been quiet...
I didnāt write this book because I love talking about aging.
I wrote it because I watched too many people lose control of their livesā¦
when it didnāt have to happen that way.
After 20 years in senior living, one thing became clear:
Itās not about preparing for decline.
Itās about having a strategy to stay independent.
Thatās what this work is about.
Follow along if you want a different way to think about aging.
This is how independence starts to slip.
Not all at onceā
but little by little.
And most people donāt even notice it happening.
Itās not about moving.
Itās about how much your home is asking from you.

If no one would naturally notice a change in your day-to-day lifeā¦
This matters more than you think.
You donāt lose independence overnight.
Follow for positive, proactive aging.
Most people donāt realize when their home starts asking more from them.
Itās not about moving.
Itās about paying attention.
Independence isnāt about staying in the same placeā
itās about how easy your life feels inside it.
