Some Valentines love from my sketchbook.

This was fun. Do I love it? Nope. But I do love PARTS of it.
As I read by I’m being reminded that not everything I do has to be just right. It’s very freeing.
Still behind but some days of being iced in may help me catch up. .nelson.art may finish long before I do but I will end up with a sketchbook full of fun art that I created.

One way I’m avoiding the cold today.

Not too shocking but I’m behind on my 30 Day Sketchbook Challenge. Not letting that stop me though. It will definitely take me more than 60 days but I’m determined to do all the prompts.
Who else is doing this one?

This is my day 4 of the Andrea Nelson 2026 Sketchbook prompts. The first one is showing you what it looks like before it dries. I’ve used masking tape to frame the edges and to block out where my words will go. I’ve also sprinkled kosher salt over the wet painting.
The second one is the finished product. You can really see what the salt does to the paint as it dries.

I’m working my way through the 2026 Sketchbook prompts from .nelson.art I’m a little behind but I’m ok with that.
This is Day 3. You may notice that you don’t see Day 2. I’m waiting for it to grow on me. 😁
I kinda over did it with the Northern Lights so my mountains didn’t turn out quite like I planned but it was fun to do.

One of my goals in 2026 is to create more. Art makes me feel better. Art is my happy place. Art is so many things to me and yet I don’t give it as much time as I should. nelson.art has started new sketchbook prompts for 2026. I started 2 days behind but will hopefully get through the 30 pages in close to the 60 day mark that she has set.

Fun at the with . There were some amazing artists there. Got a start on some holiday gifts. So many goats and other animals. My kid was in their element.
Love spending time with this kid.

Went to for Had a great time working on a dragon’s eye. Got this idea from I even found an arm in a plant. 😉
