Small Town Records is Duke University's student-run record label and recording studio. We offer free recording time to any Duke-affiliated student. In addition to that, we sign artists with outstanding music potential and drive. Though pairing them with a well-rounded team (a manager, audio engineer, producer, marketing representative etc.),

“Meet Lampshade, an all-freshman funk-jazz group. Our music blends our love for funk grooves and jazz harmonies with the classic style of timeless hits. After bonding over our shared passions for songwriting and long jam sessions, we decided to make it official and form a band. In our songwriting process, we draw on diverse music backgrounds, including jazz, rock, metal, and fusion.”
