You probably know a football player. You may even know someone who’s had a concussion; knowing what to look for can make all the difference. 🏈

Duke biomedical engineer Jason Luck is working with local high school athletes, using sensors attached to the athlete's head to better understand impacts. You don’t need to be on the field to put that knowledge to use though. If someone seems different after a hit, that’s a reason to stop and check for a possible concussion.

On National Concussion Awareness Day, look out for the players you know best.

Duke Arts is back at American To***co Campus for its sixth year with a new season of music curated by Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Tift Merritt.

This year’s series honors the women whose artistry have shaped generations of musicians. Merritt has invited participating artists to reflect on the women who influenced their own creative lives and showed them how to create space for their music.

Twenty-five years after the attacks of September 11, 2001, students placed a wreath at the University’s 9/11 Memorial plaque, located beside a grove of six trees behind Keohane Quad honoring the six Duke alumni who lost their lives in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.

The wreath has been laid at the memorial each year since the attacks, carrying forward a tradition of remembrance and honoring the Duke lives forever connected to that day.
