A modern staircase feature, built with precision.

Floor-to-ceiling vertical slats create a clean, architectural statement along this staircase. To achieve the look, each slat is carefully spaced and aligned, then finished with a continuous top cap for a seamless detail.

When the architecture calls for precision, the construction has to match.

Design. Make. Learn. Repeat.

For more than 15 years, BuildSense’s Randy Lanou and Erik Mehlman have helped NC State students take design from the studio to the real world through hands-on Design + Build education.

We’re proud of their lasting impact on the students they’ve mentored and the next generation of designers and builders.

The best energy savings start long before you move in. Smart design choices can make your home more comfortable while reducing energy costs for years to come.

- Light-Colored Concrete Floors & Walls: Help regulate indoor temperatures for a cooler, more energy-efficient home.
- Roof Overhangs: Provide shade that helps keep your home cooler during the hottest months.
- High-Performance Windows: Improve insulation, reduce heat transfer, and let in natural light without sacrificing comfort.

When these features work together, you get a home that's built for comfort, efficiency, and long-term savings.
