We love to hear from our adopters, and we recently received this wonderful update about Rogue (fka Kree). His family says, "We adopted him at the end of February and he will be 8 months old next week! Sweet boy is loving his new home and his big brother!!"

Meet Sherman and Mongo, our very own Wonder Twins! These two cuties will be attending our Meet & Greet THIS SATURDAY, June 13 (10:30am–12:30pm) at Hollywood Feed. Please come out to say hello!

Bump those little paws together and watch the magic happen.

Sherman, our bold white brother, is all confidence and adventure. Like Zan, he is ready to flow into any room and make a splash, charging into new places with a wagging tail and a "where to next?" grin.

Mongo, the brown half of the duo, is our gentle shapeshifter. A world-class snuggler who is a touch shy at first, he is the kind of soul who transforms into whatever his person needs, lap warmer, shadow, best friend. He just needs a little patience to find his courage.

And no Wonder Twins are complete without their sidekick. We are still accepting applications for two very important roles, also known as the lucky families who get to bring these boys home.

That's right, these twins are looking for homes of their very own. Two months old, twice the love, and ready to activate their superpowers in two lucky households.
Could your home be a Wonder Twin's secret headquarters?

🐾 Every Dollar Helps Save a German Shepherd's Life 🐾

When a dog enters rescue, the journey to a healthy, happy future begins with medical care—and those costs add up quickly.

Your donation helps provide:

💙 $20–$30 – Deworming, f***l test, leash, or collar
💙 $50–$75 – Wellness exam
💙 $50–$150 – Microchip or routine vet visit
💙 $210–$225 – Lab tests or 3 months of food in foster care
💙 $300 – Vaccinations, heartworm test, flea & tick prevention
💙 $350–$800 – Spay or neuter surgery
💙 $1,000+ – Heartworm treatment or life-saving major surgery

Every German Shepherd that comes through rescue deserves the chance to feel loved and have an opportunity to thrive. Whether your gift covers a wellness exam or contributes toward a major surgery, your support directly impacts a dog's future.

🐕 Together, we can provide the care they need and the second chances they deserve.

Small in size, BIG in spirit. Raven is smart, loving, and always ready for fun.

Why you’ll love her:

• Energetic, playful, and curious
• Silky-soft coat that barely sheds
• A+ car companion
• Loves walks, water, and chasing her ball
• Smart girl who knows several commands and learns fast
• Loyal, affectionate, and settles beautifully after playtime

Her ideal home:

• Fenced yard (she takes squirrel patrol VERY seriously)
• Preferably the only dog, or a well-matched male
• No cats
• Older kids likely best
• A family who enjoys activity + mental stimulation

Raven thrives when she’s close to her people and has a job to do. If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent partner for life’s adventures, this spirited girl is ready to join you.

Think Raven might be your match? An adoption application is a great first step. Link in the comments below.

We are saddened that Argo, class of 2022 has gone to the Rainbow Bridge.
His family said, "Argo was a dog's dog. He was intelligent, playful, silly, and LOVED pets. He was extremely well behaved/trained and lived a wonderful life with his late brother Remus (13) and his sister Xena (~5, our other GSD Rescue).
Argo was such a pretty dog and he knew it! He didn't walk, he pranced. Everywhere. He was always so happy and loved walks, hikes, and chasing critters up the trees in our backyard. Argo was a hugger and cuddler! If you let him, he'd happily jump up in your lap for a hug and settle in.

And when he slept or took a nap? He'd rollover on his back and curl up. He'd come into my office to lay on my feet when I was working long hours and paw me to politely ask for pets. He loved car rides and exploring new places.

Argo had an additional quirk of loving bananas (in moderation of course)! He was very polite when asking for pets, he would lie his head down in your lap or tap your hand or arm when you were nearby with his nose (sometimes even falling asleep while waiting)."

Update: We received some exciting news this afternoon! Max is PENDING ADOPTION!!

Meet Max! This sweet 1-year-old boy has a heart of gold, and his absolute favorite hobby is smothering his humans with pure affection. Seriously, he will jump right into your arms for a cuddle. Toys aren't really his thing—he’d much rather be the toy you are snuggling. He would thrive equally well as an only dog or with a canine sibling to hang out with.

Like many young dogs, Max needs a little help with his manners. That "jumping into your arms" habit is adorable now, but less so when he's a full-grown Shepherd launching at Grandma! He needs an adopter who is ready to put in some dedicated training time. Max's ideal home will have experienced humans and a fenced yard.

If you’ve got room in your lap and your heart for a sweet, social, jump-into-your-arms kind of guy, Max is ready when you are!

It's getting closer -- the GSRA Meet and Greet event on June 13 (10:30am-12:30pm) at Hollywood Feed! Come meet some pups and chat with the foster families who know them best.

Interested in fostering or volunteering? Drop by and learn more about our mission to save and rehome dogs across NC, SC, and VA. Plus, your well-behaved pups are welcome to join in on the fun, so bring them along.

We're starting to get a list of dogs who will be at the event. As or now it includes Raven, Mongo, Sherman, Chyna, Walter and Journey. Who else will be there? Keep watching the promos! It's going to be a fun Saturday.

Meet Walter ❤️
Walter is the kind of dog who has figured out what really matters in life: a cozy bed, a favorite person, and plenty of time to stop and sniff every interesting scent along the way.

This handsome senior still has a youthful sparkle and enjoys playtime, but he's also perfectly content spending his days keeping you company while you read, cook, garden, or binge-watch your favorite shows. If you're looking for a loyal shadow who just wants to be near you, Walter may be your guy.

Because of some age-related hip issues, Walter would love a home where he doesn't have to tackle lots of stairs. What he lacks in mobility, he more than makes up for in sweetness, gratitude, and charm.

After being found as a stray, Walter is ready to leave uncertainty behind and settle into a home where he can enjoy the comfort, stability, and love he deserves.
