Fall minis this weekend completely filled my cup! 🍂❤️

But here’s a little secret… I’m not the biggest fan of minis for first-time clients! Why? Minis are more of a ‘get in, get out’ kind of deal. They’re perfect for my returning families who want fresh, updated photos. But for new clients, I always recommend booking a full session! It gives us time to connect, helps you feel comfortable in front of the camera, and lets your kiddos warm up to the whole experience.

So whether you book with me or another photographer, consider starting with a full session to build that bond with your family photographer and capture your story in the best way possible!

During my workout today mentioned “Paralysis by Analysis” and I’ve never heard such a big and scary sounding term describe me more. Really though, it’s when you overthink something so much that you just don’t do it, no matter how big or how small. You freeze. (*cough cough* also see anxiety)

Small example - my best friend making fun of me at Sephora because I was overthinking what mascara to get so much that I just wanted to walk away without any mascara. Another small, but big one for me? Overthinking IG or a caption so much that I just don’t post. Larger scale example? Not doing whatever idea or dream you have because you’re scared of being judged or failing. The only way you guarantee failure though is to not do that thing. SO, first step is recognizing it, right?

Getting to see CHS through my lens this weekend at the Perfectly Imperfect Retreat was exactly what I needed! I have a feeling that this is one of the best things I’ll ever do for my photography business and I can’t wait to implement everything I’ve learned to better serve you guys (and myself) 🤍

Wrapping up this newborn gallery and it’s had me DEEP in my feelings. I’ve been photographing so many siblings recently that it’s been a minute since I’ve photographed a family bringing home their first.

Time goes by so fast. I feel like it was yesterday that we were bringing Smith home. All those feelings of joy and pure true love being wrapped up with fear and anxiety. I mean, who was dumb enough to send us home with a new tiny human and no “how to” manual??

Next thing you know you’re dropping that same baby off at pre k, kindergarten, high school, college, ect..

I. Just. Can’t. Deal. 😭 it’s the most beautiful, crazy, terrifying ride and how lucky am I that my job is the closest we get to freezing time? To capture the right here, right now, forever? I’m the luckiest girl in the world!

Let’s talk about heirloom portraits: another TCP fave. These are classic, vignetted portraits for the mama who values tradition and fine art. It runs a little differently than all my other TCP offerings. I approach these sessions with the purpose of creating images and art that you put up on the wall for the next 60 years. These portraits are an investment that gets handed down for generations. There is a sitting fee and then an a la carte print, artwork, and album ordering call. Typical investment is between $800-$1000, including the sitting fee, and you walk away with beautiful artwork rather than digitals that sit on your phone.

Now that my rebrand is announced, let’s take a dive into what’s changed and what’s stayed the same. Starting with my Motherhood offerings: I still offer maternity, newborn, and family. In order to serve my clients better, I’ve also now added The First Year Collection! This collection covers newborn (at home), 6 month milestone (studio), and first birthday (studio or outdoor), with the option to add on maternity. It’s my favorite new addition to TCP and really captures all those precious moments that we miss so quickly of baby’s first year!
