Annie Caldwells says, “My family is my band,” and so naturally the history of the band—and their music—dovetails with the family’s real life. ANNIE & THE CALDWELLS are a family that plays a powerful disco soul from West Point, Mississippi. When Annie was 16 years old, in Aberdeen, Mississippi, she played in a band with her brothers (they were called the Staples Jr. Singers, a group of teenagers with a single album recorded in the 1970s). One day, the Staples Jrs. were singing on a church program in West Point, when a guitarist who played with one of Annie’s brothers in another band heard her and said, “Who — is that?” That moment Annie met Willie Joe Caldwell, Sr., her husband of the last fifty years, and the co-founder and guitarist for the Caldwells who supports his family’s high-flying vocals with fuzzy, psychedelic riffs.

TICKET GIVEAWAY!  😍😍😍😍

Tag 2 friends in the comments to enter to win 2 tix to this Good Moon After Party w/ Star Moles and Brotherkenzie!  Winners will be announced 10/1 - Or get tix HERE: https://thepinhook.com/ #/events/195230 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Star Moles is the project of Emily Moales, a New Hampshire ex-pat reborn and perfected in Philadelphia PA, aka Benjamin Franklin’s town. Since she first laid sound to digital tape in 2017, she has been doing what any great artist should be doing: making art, refining her craft, and finding her voice at her own pace and in relative anonymity. Over those years, she’s explored many versions of herself. Her previous releases (four full-length LPs and countless singles) were often fantastical and conceptual in nature, taking inspiration from literature and mythology. It was a necessary escapism for herself as a teenager in sleepy New England, and as a young adult amid the dull dread of a global pandemic. 💕

Brotherkenzie is the solo output from Minneapolis producer and songwriter Nathan Stocker – and, through the project, lives in the shadows, operating on the outskirts of the music industry, something he’s grown increasingly less interested in as he ages. Brotherkenzie’s music is a chasm carved from honesty and earnestness, the result teetering between catchiness and pop, but with sharp edges.

Introducing BOOTYMASTERS VOL. I co-host S*X PARTY! Yall had a blast with him and Dj Deyon at our Dirty South Juneteenth Celebration… now he’s back in the driver’s seat ready to blow the roof off this mf 🤯

We would give you a bio, but he doesn’t have one 😂 all you need to know is that his government name is Dewan, he loves techno, and he basically only comes out when he feels REALLY inspired to do so… so he must REALLY be serious about putting that ass in rotation this Friday 😏

If you joined us for Juneteenth, you already know what it is, if you didn’t, don’t miss the rare opportunity to find out what our good friend and ephemeral Durham native S*X PARTY is all about this Friday at this RA PICK event (can you tell we’re excited?)!

Start stretching now… you’re gonna need it 😩💦🍑
