Attorney Alton Maddox once said: When a black person is appointed to a political office is the very moment when black ppl should worry.
You cant trust them just b/c they look like us.
Remember that.
With things being handed down from the federal government regarding Reparations for treason and Voting restrictions this is a pivotal and opportune time for local officials to stand in unity with their black citizens and descendants of chattel slavery.
If the City of Durham, NC Government and Durham County Government can designate the city as a 4A workplace as a show of solidarity to its Latino/Hispanic citizens why cant they pass a resolution in support of their African American citizens?
This is not meant to besmirch or slight the hispanic community.
Its a question to highlight a contradiction.
The rights of the black community are under attack but we get silence where others get protection and resources.

Update:
I spoke to Mayor Williams via text on 5/11 regarding the peoples request for a resolution in support on the UN General Assembly vote on slavery.
The Mayor responded saying he had been out of the country and would follow up soon and aplogized for taking so long.
There has been no response since then.
Thank you again to all those who signed the petition.
If a response its not received soon we will move to the next stage of this campaign.
Stand Down and Stand by.
