Beyond DJing, the duo played a pivotal role in shaping Austin’s underground music scene as the owners and operators of Club Eternal, a DIY venue that became a hub for cutting-edge electronic music. Since launching Tough n’ Pretty in 2019, they have performed at warehouse raves and top venues across the United States.

Rooted in the spirit of 90s rave culture and influenced by legends like The Chemical Brothers and Orbital, their chemistry behind the decks is undeniable. With Shogi’s decade-long production career yielding new material on Total Zone and Al V Dam preparing her own releases, Tough n’ Pretty continues to push the boundaries of club music. starting off 2025 with a hypnotizing mix from founder ❣️🚨❣️

Whipnotiq is a sorceress of unique sounds from emotive to oddball, often within the realms of electro music and beyond. She cherishes the music she loves and passionately collects and shares it with others. Based in Long Beach, California, Miranda Calzada has been honing her craft on mediums from Ableton controller to turntables for over a decade. By curating Neptunian Influence, an electro-leaning mix & event series, she brings forth sounds which incite “bright companion clouds and dark vortices.” After bringing the celebrated Neptunian Influence Detroit Brunch to a close in 2024, Miranda’s next event will be with Drexciya collaborator-artist AbuQadim Haqq on February 1, 2025 at Bowers Museum, where she serves as Director of Public Programs.

Sassmouth is a DJ based in her longtime adopted home, Chicago. She playfully mixes all kinds of records with a focus on techno, house, acid and electro sounds. She created her label god particle as a homage to this style of DJing- a place for friends to showcase music that connects the dots between all these styles of dance music. She is a rave mom and real mom and co-runs Walking and Falling- a mentor program for women and non-binary music enthusiasts that want to learn to DJ. If you don’t see her in the booth she is very likely dancing her ass off by the front left speaker.
