The Duke OTD is committed to weaving students’ personal and professional development together to shape leaders with a focus on eliminating human suffering caused by barriers to occupation. ✨Class of 2027 Commissioning Ceremony ✨
On May 1st, we celebrated our Class of 2027 students’ transition from classroom learning into fieldwork, capstone work, and service‑driven clinical practice.
Each student received their Blue Coat and pin, symbols of readiness, responsibility, and the values at the heart of Duke OTD. This moment affirmed their commitment to ethical practice, service, and lifelong learning, values at the core of the Duke OTD program.

Duke OTD faculty, students, and alumni represented our program on the world stage at the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) Congress in Bangkok, Thailand! This global gathering brought together nearly 2,400 OT professionals from 78 countries for research exchange, collaboration, and innovation.

Duke OTD had the privilege of participating in an Interprofessional Adaptive Sports Experience, where our students explored wheelchair basketball, Boccia ball, sitting volleyball, and hand cycling!
A huge thank you to NC Adapted Sports, Triangle Thunder, and Triangle Volleyball Club for partnering with us to make this event possible. Our students walked away energized, inspired, and grateful for an opportunity filled with learning, collaboration, and fun!
