We're Jackie & Andy Brosonski, and we are former full-time RVers.

Last night, we moved into our apartment in Durango. It was a long day... We moved out of our accommodations in Steamboat in the morning, Jackie drove her car, and Andy drove the Uhaul truck full of our stuff all the way down through the Million Dollar Highway at sunset to Durango. We got to the apartment and got all of our stuff inside in about 30 minutes.

It's going to take some time to setup in here, but we're working on it. While we were in the moving process, Andy's truck has been in the shop. We were given the bad news that it would cost a few thousand dollars to fix it. We already put in thousands of dollars prior for other things, and our situation really didn't help us financially.

So we were given the choice of paying to fix the truck again or "downgrade" to another vehicle. Based on the amount of money we keep putting into the truck and that we really don't need it since we're no longer towing an RV, Andy decided to trade it in for this Toyota 4Runner. It's been one obstacle after another, but we think we're making good decisions and we're moving forward in our life.

Well, it's over... We said goodbye to our RV today. It all happened so fast. Hopefully it goes to a family who will enjoy and take good care of it. It was so sad to see it go. 💔

All of our stuff is now out of the RV (except for our desk that we'll disassemble tomorrow). It took us 3 days to do this (while putting in half days at work). This isn't even all of it. We have our new mattress, toiletries, clothes, and lots of kitchen stuff not shown here. How did we fit all of this in the RV?

We feel so discombobulated with everything being a mess, but our goal at the moment was to get our stuff out of the RV. After disassembling the computer desk tomorrow, we'll need to deep clean the RV. We cleaned and brought the bedroom slide in last night to remove some of the skirting and to conserve heat.

We can't believe this is happening; it's all unfolding so fast that we can't even comprehend it. We feel so torn about how to feel about this. Part of us is really looking forward to settling down again and regaining our life, but the other part feels heartbroken and defeated about the RV life. This is one of the hardest things we've ever gone through in our relationship, and honestly, it's pretty scary. But we'll keep everyone updated as we go.

It's time we spill the beans and discuss what's been going on lately. Due to unfortunate circumstances, we are quitting RV life and moving into an apartment. We're selling our RV next week and moving shortly after. We're blessed to have accomodations through the campground here in the meantime while we work and sort out everything.

We've been struggling to support the RV lifestyle pretty much since the beginning, but the last few months have been exceptionally bad. A few weeks ago is when we made the decision to call it quits, and we quickly got the ball rolling. We went down to Durango and are going to be securing an apartment down there next week.

We've gotten support from friends and family the whole time, and really thought we'd be able to make this work, especially with Andy being an RV tech. Boy were we wrong. It's so heartbreaking to be leaving all this behind, but it's something we have to do before things get worse.

We've traveled more living a regular lifestyle than being in an RV, which really defeats the whole purpose of why we decided to do this. Luckily we're in the state we've been wanting to live in for years, so the moving process is going to be easier. So for the next week or two, we're going to be super busy and it's already been really stressful. But I'll be making updates as we move forward.

The weather here in Steamboat is so unpredictable. The forecast called for less than an inch of snow, but woke up to this beautiful view. Steamboat ski resort got 6" of fresh snow. Hopefully it'll stay this time. It's been pretty mild the last several days, but looking into the near future, there are several nights with temps in the teens and below.

The Backroads Brosonskis have done a lot in 2025. Let's take a moment to break down some of the highlights from this year...

We became Texas "residents" for RV living on New Year's Day. We started our Backroads Brosonskis YouTube channel in February. Since then, we've gained over 150 subscribers, and our last video got over 3,000 views. We also gained over 700 followers here on our page.

In 2025, we've traveled from TX to AZ to WY to NJ and to CO in the RV. That's over 5,500 miles with the RV! We started workamping in April in Sheridan, WY for the whole summer, and now we're workamping in Steamboat Springs, CO for the winter. We celebrated our 1 year RVersary on Halloween, and then our 5 year wedding anniversary in November.

So that's our wrap-up for 2025. We're not entirely sure what 2026 has in store for us. We do know that we are going to be spending the summer workamping in the Adirondacks in NY. Next winter, we very well may be heading somewhere along the pacific coast. We're so excited to see what the next year has to offer! 🎊

Over the weekend, we drove 3.5 hours out to Denver to go shopping. This is the closest that the stores we wanted to go to are from Steamboat. Yesterday, we shared the terrifying experience we had on the way over Rabbit Ears, but the rest of the trip went really well, and we took a different way back home. This is one of the awesome views of the front range looking west from Denver.

We got some snow today here in Steamboat, so we decided to do a local hike. It was amazing being able to hike during a snow storm. At the end, we watched people ski down the hill for a bit.
