The Durango Baseball League playoffs are HOT! Today, lucky fans witnessed a great 8U finals battle between the Pagosa Pirates (Head Coach Justin Caler) and the Durango Blue Demons (Head Coach Andy Ebner). Congratulations to the champions, Durango Blue Demons!

Batter up! This story from our 25 Stories series features Kate Cortis from Durango Baseball & Softball, one of our wonderful nonprofit partners from the 2025 Durango Wine Experience. The nonprofit partners of Durango Wine Experience provide a team of volunteers to help us run the two-day event at the end of April each year. In exchange, they receive a $2,500 grant and weekend passes to Durango Wine Experience the following year. Working with Durango Baseball & Softball was an absolute pleasure, and we are so appreciative of their hard work and what they do for youth sports across Southwest Colorado!
