A little secret about photographing surprise proposals: future grooms are nervous. Really nervous. 😂

They may forget exactly where they’re supposed to stand. They may forget where their photographer is hiding. They may wander around a mountain while said photographer is trying very hard to look like she is definitely NOT waiting for someone to propose.

And somehow, it all works.

Cameron knew one thing for certain: he wanted Nicole, and he wanted Colorado in all of its fall glory.

After she said yes, the nerves disappeared. There was ch*****ne, laughter, a beautiful new ring, and a whole lot of walking up and down a mountain.

At one point Nicole and I hugged, and we both immediately apologized to each other for being sweaty. 😂 That may have been the exact moment I knew I adored these two.

But what I’ll remember most is their joy.

The way they looked at each other. The way they laughed together. The way Cameron’s entire demeanor changed once the question he’d been carrying around was finally answered.

She said yes.

And from that moment on, these two were simply, completely happy.

Congratulations, Cameron & Nicole. What an absolute joy it was to be there for the beginning of this next chapter. ❤️

There’s something about a wedding dress in the mountains that will always get me.

The beautiful and the untamed. Ch*****ne straight from the bottle. Boots under the dress. Wind in the veil. A quiet hand kiss in the middle of all that enormous landscape.

Romance doesn’t have to be precious.

Sometimes it looks better with a little dirt on it.
