Ever spent a nighttime run fiddling with your light just to see where you’re stepping? 🔦
Jenna knows the struggle. During a previous nighttime half marathon, she had to hold her light at just the right angle to see the ground. With two more night races coming up, she tried the Olight Oclip 2 Pro and Oclip 2 Ultra.
Her favorite features? Strong clips that stay put, adjustable heads to direct the beam, and plenty of lighting options for after-dark miles. They’re also compact, rechargeable, and useful beyond running—like searching for the gel that disappeared under your car seat. (Jenna’s still looking for hers.)
The tradeoffs? a $49.99–$69.99 price tag and controls that take some practice.
Read Jenna’s full review to see whether one of these little lights could brighten your running routine. 👇

The three pillars of running: a pre-race shower, underwear that stays put and Nerds Gummy Clusters masquerading as sports nutrition. Apparently. 😅
For this week’s Running Takes, Tony, Maddie and Jason share the race-day ritual, fueling picks and gear tips they’ll gladly defend.

One narrow foot. One wide foot. Seventy combined miles. Both testers agreed that fit was the Lems ZenSpeed+’s biggest win. 👣
This $175 low-drop trainer pairs a roomy toe box with secure heel and midfoot lockdown—then adds a firm, ground-connected ride and an outsole ready for wet pavement and crushed gravel.
But does the 10% PEBA midsole provide any bounce? Does the 5 mm drop actually feel like 5 mm? And is there enough cushioning to make the ZenSpeed+ a true daily trainer?
Read our full multi-tester review to see where the ZenSpeed+ shined, where it felt limited, and which runners are most likely to enjoy it.

Some running hot takes are spicy. Others arrive in the rain, at 4 a.m. or with a reminder that running should benefit more than the person logging the miles.
For this WeeViewer Wednesday, Brenda, Kelsey and Aaron share the running opinions they’ll gladly defend. From the magic of rainy miles to protecting the only hour when nobody needs a ride somewhere, there’s something in these runner takes for everyone.

Seventy-eight miles of roots, rocks, wet trails, pavement, deep sand—and one 102-degree 50K attempt. Scott Hilton gave the Tarkine Trail Devil 3 a thorough trail exam. 👟⛰️
This versatile trail trainer combines a responsive, nimble ride with a roomy, foot-shaped toe box and a Vibram Megagrip outsole that delivered a major traction upgrade over its predecessor.
It wasn’t without tradeoffs. Scott found that the upper struggled to drain moisture, fine sand slipped through the toe-box mesh and larger rocks could be felt through the soft, plateless midsole.
Where did this lesser-known Australian trail shoe shine, and who might find its nearly $200 price harder to justify? Read Scott’s complete 78-mile review:

Can a pair of half tights carry enough gear to replace a running belt or hydration vest?
While training for a fall half marathon, Rising Star Taylor Marton set out to find a simpler way to carry his phone, fuel, electrolytes and water. He tested four men’s running half tights from Path Projects, Terignota, Hikebeast and For the Run during easy runs, workouts and long runs.
For his storage test, Taylor packed six gels, energy gummies, two packets of salt tabs and his phone. He also tested 350- and 500-milliliter soft flasks to see which pockets could handle hydration without bouncing.
The four designs delivered noticeably different strengths in comfort, coverage, capacity and organization—and one pair earned Taylor’s race-day vote.
