When my client contacted me for her maternity portraits and said she wanted a golden horse: Challenge accepted!! came through with this beautiful draft horse who was a former rescue. This session left me speechless! Like... literally out of breath. I don't think I've ever sprinted back and forth so many times during a photoshoot 😅

In the blazing heat of a late Georgia summer, racing the sun as it beat down relentlessly, dodging piles of horse p**p and getting lost in clouds of dust... half way through the shoot I found out my client had never even met a horse in real life before that shoot! She ROCKED it! Somewhere among all the chaos, that harsh sunlight would hit the dust clouds at the perfect angle and pure magic would happen. 🤩Doesn't this just look like something straight out of a fairytale?!

I couldn’t resist these beautiful fresh flowers for little Miss Klover’s newborn session! I’m a huge plant nerd so I LOVE her name! Her mama turned me on to for their cut flower selection and it is the BEST I’ve come across at great prices! I loaded up an entire cart for all the plant-y looks we did for this session. Can’t wait to share the other sets we created!!

I have a favorite quote that gets repeated over and over in various forms by several of my business mentors. “Imperfect action is better than perfect inaction.” Or “done is better than perfect!” As a neurotic perfectionist… I think I need to have this tattooed on my forehead 😂 I never get around to making social media posts or sharing my work for a myriad of reasons, all in the name of chasing perfection. My goal for this year is to really live by those mantras so you guys can see more of my work and my amazing clients! Just put the story out there whether all of the pieces are perfectly in place or not!

This new years photo of our family is the perfect reminder of that for me. I never would have signed up for trying to capture this image. I was exhausted, burnt out from a long holiday break with 3 kids at home. We went out on our deck with a random bag of spare roman candles and sparklers to have some fun. On a whim, I asked my husband if he wanted to grab a camera so we could get long exposure photos of us twirling sparklers. One fumbled attempt led to another, we got some crappy shots of us firing Roman candles into the woods from our deck but they all were just blah. Our 10-shot Roman candles ran out just as we decided to try just ONE shot of us in the backyard while the camera stayed on the deck. I was clutching a fussy baby and literally holding my boys still for this singular attempt at a good photo while my husband had to quickly light and hold two 5-shot romances candles to get enough trails in the photo. And…. Magic happened!! We didn’t know it, but the 5-shots were multicolored and lit up the woods in this technicolored array when they combined in the long exposure. The perfectionist in me would have wanted to wait and edit the raw image on my computer, and probably never gotten around to it, but my husband shot it over to his phone, did some quick adjustments, and that was that! We got to welcome the new year with the coolest family photo and share it with the world, all because I didn’t overthink it. I hope this can be the reminder you also need.. to just do the thing, make the attempt, put yourself out there, and see where life takes you!

Are you Team “Smize” or Open Smiles? I love doing multiple group arrangements and different expressions to capture all the different facets of a family’s personality. In this case, i’m obsessed with both! This family rocked their portraits! Isn’t this framed canvas wall art the perfect showcase piece in their foyer? 😍

There’s nothing I love more than a timeless portrait with beautiful light and genuine emotion. Sure, I’ll always enjoy my over the top artistic sets and editing, but it’s certainly not necessary to create timeless art. I hope this perfect baby girl grows up and feels her mother’s love every time she sees this portrait. I hope if she one day has her own daughters, they’ll look back and know they came from a long line of bold beautiful women, and that they’ll stand a little taller because of it. ❤️

I'm bringing my headshot mini sessions back! The last 2 sessions were SO much fun and everyone's loved their headshots. (So much that almost everyone left with way more images than the included 2!😍)

This might be the last one of these events for a long while since I've got other things on the horizon for fall. And my favorite hair and makeup artist, Brittanie from Beauty Struck will be in town to make sure you're all looking and feeling amazing!

This is Indy. An incredibly effective life coach and reiki energy healer, and the owner and visionary behind . When a friend and former client mentioned him in conversation, I literally had to cut them off and ask how I could meet this person. I was so intrigued! From the moment I walked into his shop (which is beautifully curated with the loveliest items and full of such warm positive energy) and first spoke to him, there was an instant connection like re-meeting an old friend. (A sentiment that I’m sure everyone feels when meeting him.) I was delighted when he reached out and asked me to work with him on creating personal branding portraits for his business! Being able to use my skills to help fellow business owners elevate their outreach and marketing impact is one of the coolest parts of what I do. In this particular case, i can only hope that I’ve been able to have as much of a positive impact with Indy as he has had in my life! I’ve visited him both for life coaching as well as energy healing sessions, and I can’t sing his praises enough. (Neither can my husband, who has also received great guidance from Indy.) Friends, take a moment out of your day to check out and check out all of the great services and classes they have to offer! If you’re in the Suwanee area, stop by the shop and experience some true retail therapy, and possibly meet Indy himself if you’re lucky!

The task of capturing a personality like Indy’s on camera and doing it justice was such a fun challenge. His presence is somehow simultaneous immense but also quiet and humble. I think one of my favorite compliments for my work came from this session! I was told that people who have never met him have seen his portrait on his website, and have been moved to tears! 😭I seriously couldn’t ask for any validation great than that! This series was the first branding session I’ve done for and I’m so looking forward to our next session, this time in the beauty of Mother Nature!

Also, here’s a special mention for his right-hand-woman, Maria! An equally grounding and beautiful soul to interact with. These portraits could not have happened without you!
