Portfolio decorations kicking off the short week back to school. Some of my favorite student‑made portfolios.
Meanwhile, my head’s still in Cali and the summer.🥲🌴
I let them know as usually the teacher who’s cool, who’s got snacks…
But im not the one, nor the two!😤
Solid week. Appreciate you stopping by and checking out our work.
Forgive the gym clothes. School starts tomorrow and I'm still getting my classroom ready. I really don’t give AF about lighting or angles or Instagram acting either.
Some pretty wild tea in the design world yesterday, so I thought I would give my two cents.

Submitted my Tuskegee Airmen artwork to Black Veterans Project for their
upcoming publication Dark Green Report.
Dark Green Report will showcase writers, visual artists, and photographers whose work explores the complex history of Black military service, themes of memory and repair and uplift the voices of Black service members, veterans, and military families.
Thanks for checking out my work!

Black men are visionaries, builders, fathers, leaders. We are more than the narratives, we are the proof of resilience and brilliance.
Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of negative narratives spun on us on this here internet, since there’s an abundance of that, I can damn sure spread a little bit of
positivity.
Thanks for checking out my work!

Being a teacher gives me the chance to meet a lot of people, and sooner or later they find out what I really do outside the classroom.
These days my work is built on real relationships, not just digital connections.
One of those relationships turned into a project I’m proud of, creating a logo for a senior citizen travel brand.
The mark is a GPS orbiting the sun and the ocean.
A design that works just as well on a boarding pass as it does on a beach tote.
That’s the vibe I love, rooted in relationships and built to last.
Thanks for checking out my work.
Well Done Whitfield!
Bouquet of Culture II (Black Boy Joy).
Dedicated to my brothers.
Nephews. Being a Black man takes strength, but also vulnerability, honesty, community. You don’t have to carry it all. You don’t have to be steel. You’re allowed to breathe. To grow. To ask.
You come from men who survived what was meant to break them. Resilience is in your blood. But survival isn’t the only goal anymore, peace is. Joy is. Purpose is.
Guard your mind like your grind. Guard your spirit like your family. Don’t let this world tell you you’re less than brilliant, capable, worthy of love.
Stand tall. Stay connected. Lead, but stay teachable. You’re not alone, your uncles, brothers, elders walk with you.
You matter. Your future matters. You’re needed more than you know.
Thanks for checking out my work!
Well done, Whitfield!

My wife bought a pretty cool desk, which means it’s like both ours and I’ll be busting out sketches on it when she’s not using it!😉🤫✏️
If you don’t have a Lite-Brite at your desk, you’re CLEARLY doing it wrong!
Thanks for checking out my work and my wife’s cool desk!

Check out my interview with Bold Journey!🥳
Although I am very grateful for all of my interviews. I get the odd feeling they’re trying to sell me my own article by buying frames!😬
Either way, thank you!
Well done, Whitfield.
