102 minutes. It’s such a short span of time, but in that time our lives were forever changed. Can’t believe it’s been 20 years, because I remember so many of those minutes like they just happened.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from our family to yours
Each year at this time, I begin reflecting on the year we have had. Never have we ever had a year like this. Oh, what a year it has been!

While I could certainly choose to dwell on all that this year has taken from us, I am choosing to focus on what it has given us.

2020 gave our family precious time together to enjoy countless games, movies and fun. It gave us lots of laughs and great memories with good friends. It gave us zoom birthdays and zoom happy hours. It gave Gary a chance to grow his crafting biz and we have learned to navigate pop-up markets, outdoor festivals and the online shopping space. It gave Riley a chance to discover that she thrives in online schooling and that she is a really great cookie maker. It gave Jae a chance to grow her love of lacrosse and improve her reading and typing skills. 2020 has also taught me to treasure every moment because we are not guaranteed tomorrow.

Last December, I chose my word of the year for 2020 and it was JOY. Seems ironic, but I am so grateful for this one word. My “word of the year” helped me to focus on the good and on being grateful for what we have rather than what was taken away. I can honestly say that this was a year filled with joy despite the pandemic and all the changes that came with it.

She goes where I go. She even reads what I read. 😂 I think she may need glasses tho if she has to get that close to the page. 😉
