Myth:
The ”first shadowy approach of something whose reality came with Christ.”
— C.S. Lewis
Joy experienced in encountering it provides a “sudden glimpse of the underlying reality or truth.”
— J.R.R. Tolkien
In all good stories there are elements of the one True Story.

Prof. Wright is accurately and faithfully teaching what Scripture -in light of the character and works of God (most poignantly on display in Jesus Christ)- has always said.
If you’re a disciple (faithful follower) of Jesus, you carry on His mission in the world (the Missio Dei- ‘God’s mission’) until He returns.
And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” -Jesus Christ, Revelation 21:5, ESV Bible

NT Wright: What if the Point of Christianity Isn’t Getting to Heaven? - RELEVANT For generations, Christians have framed faith as a question of destination. Believe, behave, endure — and someday you’ll make it to heaven. But N.T.

Fantastic evening in with the .columbus for Columbus crew last week! One of the largest gatherings yet and so many wonderful people to meet!
At the end of the evening, in the setting sun, we closed out our months long conversation on author, musician, poet & Anglican priest, Malcolm Guite’s wonderful book ‘Lifting the Veil: Imagination and the Kingdom of God’ (highly recommend!) in an effort to gain clarity on the calling and influence of an ’s purpose in ’s .
Next one: September 8th, 5:30-8:30pm, Dublin, Ohio

Had a fun night teaching briefly on the gift of , & Imaginative engagement with (not to insinuate ‘not real’), and then practicing it with The Road to Emmaus passage (Luke 24:13-35).
My contention is that Our Father’s primary design for imagination is that it’s a real, yet intangible faculty through which He invites us to live more like , and join Him in His world-renewing work (Rev. 21:5).
Imagination is like the blank canvas, the Word and the Holy Spirit are like the art implements. Remaining rooted in the Biblical narrative, and welcoming the creative work of the Holy Spirit is essential. Just as the Word and Spirit brought order and out of chaos in the beginning, so too they create order and beauty out of the chaos of our lives.
“And after he has implanted new life from above in us by Word and Spirit, we can (and must) also begin to take initiative in progressively retaking the whole of our thought-life [imagination] for God’s Kingdom.”
-Dallas Willard, ‘Renovation of the Heart

Posting about this again because a clip was released weeks ago (see LinkTree in bio), but it was truly an honor to speak with Creatives of all mediums at the annual Created Conference last year hosted by friends Jeremy Slagle, Joe Deptowicz, Tyler Mitchell and others.
I’m passionate about helping ‘find their voice’ in every medium, particularly as they seek an active and dynamic connection with Our through , His Son!
Special thanks goes out to Malcolm Guite and W. David O. Taylor for their wonderful works which I borrowed from.
