Last night was the opening of Enduring Legacy . Reed and I had a wonderful time meeting and talking with other artists and patrons. Everything was beautifully hung and displayed. I don’t think my weavings have ever looked so good! The exhibition is up all summer long, and definitely worth a visit to not only see this historical house, but all the beautiful artwork. , , ,

Time and place are the common threads that run through my work. Whether the daily events occurring around me or the stage of life I am in, my work reflects those moments of time.” says Kathie Roig. “My interest in the landscape around me and my concern about our planet influence the work that I create.”
Her work, Eclipse, is a handwoven, 8-shaft block double weave with handpainted warp. See this skilled piece in-person, along with work by 68 other artists, now through July 3rd, in the “Best of 2026” juried member’s exhibition.

Yesterday’s opening Best of 2026! A celebration of creativity and joy and family and friends. I know it sometimes sounds cliche, but I am truly honored to have my weaving, “Eclipse “, included among all this beautiful work. As my grandnieces CJ and Molly would say, the added cherry, sprinkles, and whipped cream on top is that I won The Ruth Lantz Award for Excellence in Fiber!
Photos include, me; me with CJ and Molly; me with .parry; me accepting my award; my weaving “Eclipse “.

Here I am among my wildflowers! (and a few ladybugs and 1 butterfly) Next step is to machine quilt, but I’m going to let it sit for a bit to give myself some time to decide what I want to do. This has been such an enjoyable and satisfying project to work on…I found myself absorbed and focused on color, shape and process for hours at a time. Big thanks to for knowing I just might like this workshop ❤️
