Strong relationships don’t happen by accident—they’re built through intentional choices made day after day.

The conversations you have, the attention you give, the habits you create, and the way you show up for each other all matter more than you think.

If you want a stronger relationship, start by being intentional today. Small, consistent choices lead to lasting connection. ❤️

What intentional choice can you make for your relationship this week?

After 25+ years of coaching couples, one thing is clear: healthy relationships aren’t built by chance—they’re built by intentional choices.

Here are 5 habits to stop if you want to strengthen your relationship:
• Stop letting distractions steal your attention from the people who matter most.
• Stop comparing your relationship to everyone else’s.
• Stop ignoring your mental health—your well-being impacts your connection.
• Stop repeating the same unhelpful conflict patterns.
• Stop missing opportunities to connect, even in the small daily moments.

Strong relationships are created through small, consistent changes over time.

Which one of these stands out to you the most? Share your thoughts in the comments. 👇

Great conversations rarely happen by accident, they happen with intention.

Before jumping into a difficult discussion, pause and ask yourself:
• Is this the right time?
• Am I listening to understand, not just respond?
• Can we focus on finding common ground instead of winning the argument?

Healthy communication isn't about having all the right answers. It's about creating a space where both people feel heard, respected, and understood.

What's one habit that has helped improve communication in your relationships? Share it in the comments below. 👇

Conversations don’t have to end in conflict.
When emotions are high, it’s easy to get stuck arguing instead of understanding. The good news? Healthy communication is a skill that can be learned.

Here are four keys to more productive conversations:
✔️ Choose the right time.
✔️ Start with what you agree on.
✔️ Listen to understand, not just to respond.
✔️ Look for a win-win compromise.
Remember: You don’t have to agree on everything to reach a successful resolution.

Sometimes the first thing we notice isn’t the full story. 🤍

A missed responsibility, a lack of connection, or a change in behavior can feel personal — but sometimes there is something deeper happening beneath the surface.

Mental health can impact how we communicate, respond, and show up in our relationships. Understanding what’s really going on creates space for compassion, connection, and growth.

If you want to dive deeper into this conversation, check out our previous reel where Dr. Matt Townsend shares more about how anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other mental health challenges can affect our relationships. 💙

Sometimes what looks like a relationship problem may be something deeper.

Anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other mental health challenges can impact the way we communicate, connect, and show up for the people we love.

Before we assume our partner is selfish, doesn’t care, or “just isn’t trying,” it’s worth asking: what might they be carrying that we can’t see?

Understanding doesn’t mean ignoring problems — it means we can approach them with more compassion, wisdom, and a willingness to find solutions together. 🤍

What would change in your relationships if you led with curiosity before criticism?
