We were honored to celebrate hundreds of graduates crossing the stage a couple of weeks ago, representing communities across the nation and a wide range of backgrounds and stories. Each graduate arrived with their own path and their own reasons for being here, but all of them are now ready to take the next step and make a difference in the world around them. We could not be prouder of this incredible group, and we cannot wait to see all that they accomplish next. 🎓

Alumni Highlight: Kyra Wilson

Meet Kyra Wilson, a recent Joyce graduate with an incredible full-circle story!

While in nursing school, Kyra worked at Utah Valley Hospital as an orderly in the Operating Room, an experience that built the connections and hands-on skills that led her toward Labor & Delivery.

"My favorite part of Joyce was truly the people and the experiences I had along the way," Kyra shared. "Nursing school challenged me in so many ways, but it also gave me some of my closest friends, incredible instructors, and so much confidence in myself."

💙 We are so excited for as she begins her nursing journey!

Flight nursing is one of the most dynamic specialties in the field, and Kimmie Patron, a Joyce alumna, is living proof. 🚁 🩺

She is part of Intermountain Health's organ procurement and perfusion flight team, a tight-knit crew of 5 nurses and 5 techs who work alongside abdominal transplant and CV surgeons.

Here's what she shared,
"We fly to different states in the hospital jets to do the procurement surgeries and bring them back. We also run perfusion pumps such as the Organox, ExVivo, and Vitasmart."

💌 A little fall cheer, made with love by our students!

Thanks to the students who took the time to write fun, heartfelt notes for our Fall Room Kits! 🍂

These kits are heading to patients at Primary Children's Hospital to help decorate their rooms this season, complete with fall-themed window clings, stickers, an activity book, leaves, string lights, an owl craft, window markers, and, of course, a sweet handwritten card from our very own Joyce students.

This is all part of our upcoming 8th Annual Halloween Costume Drive benefiting Primary Children's Hospital.

💫 Meet Wendy Giron, winner of the Integrity Award!

She shared this about being a Joyce graduate: "I am proud to be a Joyce grad because Joyce gave me the confidence to be a nurse."

Her next step after graduation is to continue her education and earn her NP in Esthetics.

👏 Show some love for Alisha Sellers, the winner of the Learning Award!

Alisha shared this about her nursing journey:

“Being a Joyce graduate means so much to me because of the growth that took place between the person who began this program and the nurse who is graduating from it.”

Her next steps after graduation are to take the NCLEX and continue working at a wellness clinic.

Alisha also plans to continue her education and pursue opportunities as a Labor and Delivery or NICU nurse.💙

💫 Congratulations to Lisa Johnson, our Service Award recipient!

As a non-traditional student, Lisa brought a unique perspective and a strong commitment to serving others throughout her nursing journey.

Reflecting on her experience, Lisa shared:

“During my service learning experience in Belize, I had the opportunity to see firsthand the incredible impact Joyce students are making in communities. There's something incredibly fulfilling about using our time and talents to help others.”

Her commitment to service will continue beyond graduation as she begins her nursing career at the University of Utah Hospital in the Acute Pulmonary department. 🩺
