Over cappuccinos with new friends at

Arriving in Ragusa felt like a fairytale. As the sun was descending over the Hyblaean Mountains, the faces of the of the buildings glowed with golden light. Trees exploded with blooms of deep pink. Floating wishes passed across the sky and the smell of citrusy florals filled the air. We quickly unloaded our luggage and danced through the streets, off on another adventure. Each turn left us in awe - arriving at the town center with tears in our eyes. So grateful to be alive. We ate pasta and aubergine, and a delicious fresh tomato salad. I drank the house red and Dani tried a Sicilian beer. On our passeggiata, we landed in the most picturesque garden - a public park open until 1am. We heard voices coming from behind a gate and we followed them. A courtyard lush with orange trees appeared. In it, a family laughing over wine as a chef stood chatting them up. We felt the magic be decided to go back for breakfast in the morning. Semplice is not a restaurant. It is a home away from home. No menu - just fresh local ingredients and a wonderful host who will cook whatever you fancy. We dined with other adventurous souls and shared music over traditional Sicilian dishes and delicious cappuccinos. Bless.

I recently went to the Sara Bareilles premiere of “Good Grief” at Tribeca. I cried the whole time, the following day, and I still cry every time I hear this song. Sara’s upcoming album explores themes of grief, something I’ve become very familiar with since losing my parents when they were only 58 years old. Her song “Home” speaks to things I often think, but also try to push away. Thank you Sara for giving us permission to feel it all 💗
