This month, Doylestown library's resident pet gecko, Gordy, received the full BCFL experience: he visited multiple library branches! Like a rockstar on tour, Gordy was the featured guest at a number of different programs, providing meet and greet opportunities for patrons who had not yet had a chance to meet him at his home library.

This program is part of our Many Stories, One Bucks literacy initiative this fall. Many Stories, One Bucks is a free initiative focused on promoting literacy and inspiring meaningful dialogue with celebrated voices.

Bucks County is a place teeming with stories; a bounty of varied voices with something to share. There is no better place to bring these stories together than the library.

Last week, we had the privilege to participate in Yardley Harvest Day . This was a wonderful opportunity to connect and talk about the library with hundreds of community members. We registered over 40 people for new library cards! Incredible! Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hi! 👋😊

We learned so much (and had a ton of fun) at our Teddy Bear Clinic programs held at a few of our branches this past month! These engaging programs encourage children, along with their favorite Teddy friend, to complete activities and crafts designed to address a child's concerns over doctor's visits and routine medical procedures. Featuring a talk and book signing with Emmy Award-winner Sonia Manzano (Maria from "Sesame Street" and creator of PBS Kids' "Alma's Way") on November 14, Many Stories, One Bucks will include themed programming throughout October and November for all ages.

Book Clubs and Discussions, BCFL's annual Local Author Fair, curated reading lists, special speakers, as well as themed storytimes and Badge Squad programs will all be part of the fun this autumn at the library.
