The State Water Infrastructure Authority and DEQ have awarded federal and state drinking water and wastewater funding supporting 217 Helene projects that will help 83 communities across 29 counties repair and strengthen their infrastructure after the storm.

All available federal Helene funds for drinking water and wastewater systems have been awarded, improving resilience for the future.

North Carolina’s DEQ was the first state agency in the Helene-impacted states to award all water infrastructure post-Helene funds, which means these systems will be repaired faster and will be ready and resilient for future storms.

These events are all made North Carolina Department of Commerce’s Major Events, Games, and Attractions Fund. North Carolina is thrilled to be a home for the summer of soccer!

It was an honor to induct Chris Paul into The Order of the Long Leaf Pine during the championship matches of The Soccer Tournament. Chris is a partner in the tournament, continuing his strong sports legacy in our state and beyond. As a basketball and Academic All-American at Wake Forest, NBA Rookie of the Year, 12x NBA All-Star, and Olympic gold medalist, the Winston-Salem native has helped solidify North Carolina’s reputation as the home of basketball.

Off the court, his Chris Paul Family Foundation assists charities in Winston-Salem and supports HBCUs, including North Carolina A&T. Congratulations, Chris, on this honor! Thank you for all you do.
