✨ Intern Spotlight ✨

Hello! My name is Lara and I recently did an internship at Treehouse Wildlife Center. After graduating from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in biology I found that Treehouse would be the perfect place to start my career in wildlife rehabilitation. This internship gave me a solid foundation of skills that I will be able to use in my future endeavors

Although I did not get a picture with her, my favorite resident is Maddie. Every time I got to take care of her it made my day!

✨ Resident Spotlight ✨

Emrys came to TreeHouse on March 18, 2015 after being hit by a car off of Route 37 just south of Salem, IL. His right wing was broken at the wrist and unfortunately had to be amputated, deeming him non-releasable.🦅

Emrys is sponsored by Phillips 66

✨ Talented Trainee: Codino the Virginia Opossum ✨

Codino’s target training has taken an artsy approach. This non-toxic paint also doubles as enrichment!Painting can mimic textures found in the wild, like mud. With this being Codi’s first time painting, we are proud of how willing he is to try new things. Stay tuned as this ambassador continues to expand his horizons!

Treehouse Wildlife Center is saddened to announce the passing of Ed, one of our American White Pelicans.

Ed came to Treehouse in 2013 as a juvenile pelican after being found unable to fly due to a wing injury. Unable to be released, he made Treehouse his home for the past 13 years.

Ed's sassy personality made him a favorite among visitors, volunteers, and staff.

We would love to see everyone's pictures and videos of Ed throughout the years in the comments!💙

Patients of the Week ❤️

After one of our major storms, we received a nest full of baby Eastern Gray squirrels weighing just 30 grams each. They were carefully assessed, treated, and closely monitored for any injuries. Over the following weeks, they grew rapidly, gaining strength and confidence every day. Now they are back where they belong, playing among the trees and thriving!
