DOVER HIGH ATHLETICS CONSTRUCTION KICKING OFF
Bids Better Than Expected; Ground-Breaking December 3

The Dover High athletics reconstruction project will enter the construction phase in the coming weeks, the Dover athletics Joint Building Committee announced...“Bids came in better than we expected, which allows us to do a little more for a little less and still come in under budget,” said Fergus Cullen, JBC chair and city councilor. In June, the City Council authorized up to $18 million for the project.
The final scope of work authorized by the JBC includes two synthetic turf playing fields, one replacing Dunaway Field and the other at the reimagined baseball field. That field will be rotated and expanded to create a second multisport field in the outfield.
“This second field replaces the field we lost with the construction of the new high school and adds hundreds of uses per year to the facility. Dover will no longer be a field-poor community,” said Linnea Nemeth, city council representative on the JBC.

The project includes replacing the rubberized track, grandstands, and lights around Dunaway Field. There will be a new concessions and bathrooms building and an athletics equipment storage barn. A 25-car parking lot will provide handicapped parking and a pick-up / drop-off area accessed from Bellamy Road, neither of which exist at the old field....

Baseball lights are still unknown at this time.

Hi Dover, the below came out from Dover Middle School. FYI- The only sports that apply to the actual middle school are cheer and basketball. All others are for the high school only. Hope that helps!

DMS Athletics

Dover High/Middle School's Winter Sports Teams will begin practices and tryouts on and at the following dates and times:

DMS Basketball, Swimming/Diving and Bowling will begin on Monday, November 17 th. MS boys basketball will be from 2:30-4:15pm. MS girls basketball will be from 4:15-6pm. Both will take place in the DMS gym Swim/Dive and bowling times and locations will be given out by their coaches.

Alpine Skiing and Gymnastics will begin on Monday, November 24 th. Times and locations will be given out by their coaches.

The remaining sports teams will begin on Monday, December 1st .

Girls Ice Hockey will begin off ice at the Winnacunnet HS weight room from 4-5:30pm.

Boys Ice Hockey will begin at Dover Ice Arena from 5:30-7:00pm.

Indoor Track will begin in the DHS AUX gym at 2:45pm

Girls Basketball will be in the DHS gym from 3:00-5:00pm

Freshman Boys Basketball will be in the DHS AUX from 4:00-6:00pm

Boys Basketball will be in the DHS gym from 5:00-7:00pm

DMS Cheer will be in the DMS gym from 6:00-8:00pm

Cheer will be in the DHS AUX from 3-5pm starting on Monday, December 8th.
