💙🤍 Join the Capital School District Summer Reading Challenge! This summer, we invite all elementary students and their families to “Unearth a Story” through reading! In partnership with the Dover Public Library, students can participate in the Summer Reading Challenge from June 15 to August 14. Every type of reading counts! Independent, shared family, read-alouds, audiobooks, and e-books…reading just a little each day helps children maintain important literacy skills, build vocabulary, and develop a lifelong love of reading.
How to participate: register for the Dover Public Library Summer Reading Program, log your reading on Beanstack: https://doverlibrary.beanstack.com/reader365, as well on the reading log sent home with your child, complete the Summer Reading Challenge activities, return your school in the fall for a special surprise! Reading together creates memories, sparks imagination, and opens the door to new adventures. Let’s keep our readers growing all summer long! 🤍💙

Throughout the week, we celebrated our students during our End-of-the-Year Awards Ceremonies for all grade levels! 🎉

We are incredibly proud of each and every one of our Senators and all they have accomplished this school year. It was amazing to see so many of our families come out to support and celebrate their students’ hard work and achievements.

One of the best parts was seeing how excited and proud the students were to receive their awards. Their smiles, confidence, and sense of accomplishment are exactly what is all about! 💙🤍

Thank you to all of our families, staff, and students for making these celebrations so special.

🎓✨ Today, we had the honor of welcoming the seniors from Dover High back to their elementary school! They walked through the halls, visited their former teachers, and reflected on how far they’ve come.

Our entire school lined the hallways and cheered them on as they made one final walk through the building that helped shape their journey. It was a special moment for students and staff alike!

Congratulations to the Class of 2026! We are so proud of all you have accomplished and wish you the very best in your next chapter. 🎉🎓💙

Our students had a great time participating in all of the fun activities, friendly competitions, and team-building games throughout the day. There were lots of smiles, laughter, and memories made as everyone enjoyed spending time together outside.

Thank you to our staff, volunteers, and everyone who helped make this day possible. It was a great day filled with fun, excitement, and school spirit! 💙🤍

Our first-ever Juneteenth Festival was a success! 🎉

Students and families had an amazing time enjoying the bouncy house, free hot dogs, face painting, coloring activities, a food truck, and plenty of good vibes. One of our very own students even had a lemonade stand that completely sold out (it was THAT delicious! 🍋).

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this event so special. Special shout out to Helena Rose and her amazing lemonade stand, as well as one Love That Plate food truck! We plan to make the Juneteenth Festival an annual tradition, so if you missed it this year, be sure to catch us next year! ❤️🖤💚
