Volunteer Delaware is part of the Department of Health and Social Services, Division of State Service Centers within the State Office of Volunteerism.

π What to bring: water, sunscreen, bug repellent, and closed-toe shoes
βΏ Accessibility: Open to all, including wheelchair and mobility aid users
πΎ Pets: Leashed, well-behaved pets welcome

SAV Seekers are trained community scientists who help collect real environmental data used for conservation and restoration efforts across the state.

π± Identify and document submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) species
π§ Measure water quality (depth, salinity, clarity, temperature)
πΊοΈ Collect geo-tagged photos of habitats and shoreline features
π Use field datasheets and digital tools (QuickCapture & Survey123)
π Submit data supporting Delawareβs statewide SAV database
