Shoutout to our amazing teachers who took on the 5th graders in our annual kickball showdown—and let’s just say, the 𝑤𝑖𝑛𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑘 𝑖𝑠 𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑉𝐸𝑅𝑌 𝑚𝑢𝑐ℎ 𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑣𝑒! Final score: 𝟏𝟑–𝟏 👀👏

The students came ready to play, but the teachers brought their A-game (and maybe a little extra recess energy 😉). Rumor has it, experience beats youth… at least on the kickball field!

Great sportsmanship all around, tons of laughs, and memories made—this is what makes this tradition so special each year. 💙

Our 5th graders showed incredible spirit and teamwork in their end-of-year kickball game against the teachers. Despite the 13-1 score, their determination and enthusiasm were truly inspiring.

🌟Resilience: They played with heart and never gave up, showing us all the true meaning of resilience.

🌟Team Spirit: The camaraderie and support for each other were amazing to see.

🌟New Adventures: As they move on to middle school, we know they'll bring this same energy and positivity to every new challenge.

Our students amazed us with their confidence and willingness to share their gifts.

In April 2026, Nelson was honorably recognized as a Purple Star School during a Board Recognition Meeting, highlighting our commitment to supporting military‑connected students and families.

We are proud to share that Mrs. Creeger represented Nelson at the meeting and accepted the certificate on our behalf. Thank you, Mrs. Creeger, for representing our school with pride and for your continued dedication to supporting our military‑connected Eagles throughout the year.

These students proudly represented 𝐍𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐨𝐧 at the 𝐒𝐋𝐀𝐌 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 (Student Literacy and Media Showcase)! They created impressive 2D and 3D projects and videos inspired by books from the SSYRA book list, bringing stories to life through creativity and media.

Students also had the exciting opportunity to hear from H.D. Hunter, author of 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥, and gain insight into his writing process and the inspiration behind the book.
