Healthcare doesn’t stop at state lines, and neither does health data.
Patients travel, relocate, receive specialty care out of state and cross borders for treatment. That makes secure, connected health information more important than ever.
DHIN connects health data across state lines, giving providers access to a more complete picture of patient health when and where it matters most.

DHIN’s Event Notification System (ENS) sends real-time alerts when patients are admitted, discharged or transferred at hospitals across Delaware and the surrounding region. By keeping care teams informed of important patient events, ENS supports faster follow-up, better care coordination and more informed decision-making.
Connected health data can help reveal patterns, identify gaps and inform public health policymaking.
Recently, Dr. Jan Lee discussed how linking healthcare and community-level data provides deeper insight into the real-world experiences of Delawareans, driving more meaningful collaboration and care.
